Some pics of each step of finishing the latest batch from the point of putting scales on to whenever I forget to take pics...planning on photo'ing all the way to sheathing and sharpening so....

Starting here...scales rough cut and holes drilled...

    Clamped and glued....

Out of the clamps...excess pin material zipped off on the bandsaw...

    Flattening on the platen....

    Profiling...

Finally...in the prep for grooving...putting a nice radius on the scales with a roundover bit in the router...

    Next up...grooves!

    All ready for sculpting...

Laying in the grooves with the small wheel attachment....

Knocking off the corners with the scotchbrite wheel...

Chamfering the inside edge of the thonghole....

Shoeshining some roundness into the scales....

Nice and grippy yet super comfy... :parker:

Homestretch for the messy work...by now I'm covered in G10 mud and the shop is a dusty wreck....and I love it!

    Blasting to prep for tumbling...

Ready for a ride in the tumbler....

Out of the tumbler and I hit them with a penetrating sealant....not really needed on stainless but I'd hose 'em down in WD40 anyway so....

Tumbling produces a nice smooth yet matte gray finish that wears really well. I love this finish.

Hung out to dry and ready for marking....

That's as far as I got this weekend....stay tuned and I'll try to stay with it until the end.

    Thanks for looking!

Stalled out this week so no new progress. Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend to keep them going.

So....I was editing pics to finish this out a few nights ago and the laptop went tits up. :soot:

I lost a lot of stuff....neglected backups for the past few months but most of the photos were in the cloud....wherever the fuck that is. :komodoed:

Got everything loaded into a new one now and once I get squared away I'll finish this up.
