Thanks! I used some cheap diamond and regular mini needle files, round and triangle shape, holding the knife in one hand and the file in the other. I don't have a work table or bench vise, so it's usually what I can accomplish while stretched out in the recliner in front of the TV. :ross:

Since that work a few years ago, I've only done a few other pieces, including an Opinel and a the blades on a couple of Leatherman multitools.

I found another of the 3 piece set of 'sailor's knives' that I'd bought to try my hand at filework with last night, the third of the group went to a brother-in-law a few years ago.

fileworked blade spine by David Hopper (Stormdrane), on Flickr

I worked on the spearpoint version while watching the Falcons/Packers football game last night. I taped the blade, but still managed to cut myself twice, lol, non locking slip joint opened to work with.

The filework is not quite symmetrical, but I still like it. I'd used a Sharpie to mark out 1/8" increments on the spine, and just filed away from there.

I scratched up the blade sides a bit (shoulda used more tape) when the file slipped at times, and thought I'd fix it up with a bit of sandpaper, but now the sides look like crap, lol. Need much higher grit sandpaper. Would have tried using my Dremel tool and some Flitz polish, but couldn't find the polish and figured I'd only cut myself some more, so should leave it be, hehehe... :manganr:

Today's Halloween pocket carry is my black alox Victorinox Pioneer with paracord lanyard.
