    I'm hip!

Cool fun fact. Jerry Garcia worked out a deal with CSNY. He wrote the arrangement and played pedal steel guitar on Teach Your Children. In return, they taught the members of the Grateful Dead how to sing harmony for their upcoming albums Workingman's Dead and American Beauty.

Yep....and to keep that incredible vibe rolling, they all joined up with the Jefferson Airplane folks, and helped to create the first Starship album, IMHO one of the best pieces of music ever recorded. Talk about a trippy album, the very concept was a real mind-fuck....that a group of like-minded, highly-skilled Hippie revolutionaries would hijack the first vehicle capable of interstellar flight, and take 7,000 people on a journey across the universe to search out a new, improved civilization ....a Noah`s Ark for the New Ages, as it were.... Shazaam !

Yup. and Jerry played pedal steel on that track as well. To be fair though, that album was Paul Kantner's project. It was released as Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship.

It's amazing how he goes from pics of Watts to Vietnam, and ya can't tell the difference, (except Watts had more telephone poles, and Nam had more helicopters).

How about another little ditty from 1968?

IMHO, the "Exile On Main St." album was the high-water mark for the Stones, never to be equaled again....
