    hehehahahahaahahaahhaahahahahaaaa

    Funnny stuff

    anywho

I have a question for ya bro if ya dont mind

i am now working on my first rat tail tang and I keep splitting the wood when I try and burn it in...SOOO do you drill yours and then tap it in the rest of the way or drill and fit it completely ala lively's video?

you got the skill's bro...I really need to buy something of yours before you get that damn MS after your name :cadi:

If your starting with a solid block you will mark center's top and bottom of the block,

then you need to setup a point on your drill press table that aligns with the point of your drill bit.
Set the center of one end of the block on the point and drill halfway through the block from the top, flip over and repeat.

then you will have to enlarge the hole to accept the tang.

I don't burn tangs in anymore, I used to but found it to be entirely to easy to screw up nice handle stock.

I'll do some pictures up for ya and post em here.

    yeah, I'm pretty much pooped.
    :fowler:

My 09 Resolution is to do more Japanese style blades so I kicked it off with a 18" Wakazashi (my longest blade ever, BTW) that I had forged out a while ago.
    :fowler:

Went to quench it this morning but I didn't have a big enough tank to use my Parks #50 so I thought, ehh I'll just use water.........

    Yea, I broke it,

    Forged another one
    Ground it,
Made a bigger tank the Parks #50
    Quenched it

Danced around alot because it looks freaking KILLER
