International waters result in international requests.

Well, let You native speakers help us (non-english) please with explanations.

    So let me ask:

Some English phrases are hard to understand, and I want to alleviate the pain of misunderstanding. My English ain't perfect, and the English-knowledge of many members here ain't too.

I think a thread in this section could fulfil our needs.

Participation of every native speaker is highly recommended.

Let US just ask and let You answer.

    My question:

Is there a difference between "the best damn forum" and "the damn best forum" ??

In my understanding, there is a difference.

    Can anybody explain?

    Andreas

No 'real' difference in my book, AILL... as long as you use the word 'best' along with it.
And here I always thought you an English bloke living in the Austrian
Alps. Your English is better than some of our Devils.

I encourage everybody who has the smalles doubt not to understand what the other member exactly means (especially in sales threads understanding is obligatory) to check in here.

If we did , some sonofabitch would just Fenlore it. :bwah::bwah::bwah:
As to the " damn best , best damn " debate , best damn would be considered the norm.
We could argue all day over which is the adjective and which is the modifier , but at the end of the day , best damn forum just flows off the tongue.:jdwink2:

The best damn forum would be the correct term.
Damn forum = devil forum. Damn being what we are.

Damn best uses damn as an intensifier of best. Not wrong but not as true.

Sorry for answering this late - and thanks for the reply.
What You explained here was my "feeling" - but I had no proof.
German is - from this POV - very similar.
