Don't bother with "Curse Of Chucky". It was a very weak entry/capper to the whole series. Nice little cameos by the original kid and Jennifer Tilly and her two talents, but other than that not a very good movie. I heard it was supposed to pick up where the third movie left off and was going to go back to its scary roots as opposed to the upbeat funny vibe of the last two but it just wasn't that scary, and Chucky looks strange in this one, I can't quite explain it but it's like they rebuilt a new Chucky from scratch and stopped using the same doll they used in previous films. Very lousy capper to the series, do not bother. Plus it was direct to dvd, and direct to dvd sequels of well known classics make me feel older than I really am.

I found a bad ass gangster movie called "Gangster". It's on Netflix and is a true story about 1950-1970s Thai crime lords. They beat alotta ass and one guy even uses a balisong.

Just watched "Hours" about a new father who loses his wife during childbirth fighting to keep his premature baby alive in an Incubator with a faulty battery in a Hospital where pretty much everyone else has been evacuated due to Hurricane Katrina.

Not totally plausible, but some edge of the seat moments & some real threats for him to overcome from lack of food/drink, fatigue, to looters & the fact that he has to manually charge the battery every three minutes with a hand-crank mechanism.

Got around to watching the latest, much darker "Spider-Man" too & was very impressed.

i just watched Raging Bull for the first time last night. i thought it was kind of cool that Joe Pesci beats the same guys ass that he killed in Goodfellas for telling him to, "get ya fuckin shine box!" its been a while since i have seen Casino. I'm not sure if he got beat by Pesci in that movie too.

Thanks for the heads up. i didnt feel like watching it all over again just to find out. Found Casino The End Of Story on youtube. Billy Batts seemed more fitting for his Casino character. Pretty cool that they've had beef in 3 different movies.

They are all part of Scorsese's ensemble cast for mob flicks and pull it off amazingly well. If they weren't actors , they would have a bright future in organized crime. :bwah::bwah:

I noticed that. I might have to watch The Death Collector now which is where I read DeNiro first discovered Joe Pesci and Frank Vincent.

Between the dedication he put into that role and American Psycho, Christian Bale is one of the best Actors ever

I recently watched this again, liked it better this time. Beautifully shot and well done film. I got the statement and analysis of Jake Lamotta and its metaphor and calling the viewer to realize how we all are programmed to be driven by primal instincts:close minded, angry brute to destroy. Every one is victims by this mindless running of the bulls, ala people killing people for there promised land to kids bullying another kid on the playground to have some self worth etc.

But still he is so unlikeable that you never feel for his character. But is that the point?

    Time to rewatch taxi driver

That is pretty deep. I totally missed that btw and just viewed it as semi-autobiographical and that he was somewhat of an asshole. I've been meaning to watch Taxi Driver also.

Over the last few days, I've watched :-

Captain Philips (Exciting! & Mac Gerhardt from "The Unit" is a SEAL!)
Runner Runner (Ah! Gemma Arterton, bless er!)
    Alan Partridge Alpha Papa (Hilarious!)
Thor - The Dark World (Rather boring!)
Hunger Games - Catching Fire (also quite boring!)
And today ”The Hobbit 2" (not bad, but a little drawn-out!)

    I liked Captain Phillips also.

Thanks for the tip on Thor. I was skipping that one for the time being, but probably indefinitely now.

I thought Runner Runner had a decent story, but JT is horrible at acting.

I caught The Secret Life of Walter Mitty yesterday with my chick. We both thought it was great.

We caught Prisoner the other night. It was a bit long, over 2 1/2 hours, but I liked it. The chick thought it could have been an hour shorter. I'm not to sure on that.
