I'm sure it'll have the same excellent quality the other Talisongs have had.

Really not a fan of aluminum handles though.

The nutcracker/quilt design doesn't really do anything for me personally unfortunately but I do appreciate his knives.

It's direct competition is the Squud Krake Raken... which IMO looks plain and boring by comparison.

This design is way better. Looks classy.

I have good memories from flipping the knurled handles too.

There's definitely some subjectivity when it comes to design. More products to occupy that niche and supply something for everyone is a good thing IMO.

I didn't like the way my Talisong felt, looked or flipped TBH but the quality was excellent. It had a great edge and the fit and finish was prefect. It was kinda blade biased though and I strongly dislike how it tapers down toward the end of the handles since that's kinda the opposite of what you want for flipping.

If the quality is there and the design is revamped to be a better flipper, I'm sure it'll be pretty popular.

You must have bought a dud.

Mine wasn't blade biased and the handles were pretty good too.

I definitely want to try one out, but can’t really pick one up on the first drop because I can’t go to bladeshow :2tonheavy:

    interesting

thnx for the heads up buddha

*to be honest this will prob be pretty badass

i gave in and bought a lucha and the flytanium channel handles

flytaniums quality is great and i was surprised by the aluminum. if done right its a good material to use

overall i hate the over blocky and over cornery feel of the lucha flytanium alum channel handle shape. also too long. but they had to have material for weight

this looks like it fixes all that and is a cool collab

    cool blade too

hopefully those alum handles have enough weight hidden somewhere

I’ve played with a couple different knurled talisongs. The early one I had was nice but handle heavy (5.8oz?). The later ones were awesome especially with a heavier grind (5.4oz?)

I don’t love aluminum on knives but you’re getting good value for your money here. Only thing that worries me is that real early holed talisongs felt a bit light in the handles. This one might be even lighter

Not a dud, but design choices.

Mine was the tanto version that it kinda not a tanto. It was most definitely slightly blade biased. Not to the point where it was unflippable, but nowhere near ideal.

The handles start off thicker toward the pivots and taper down to be thinner near the end of the handles. It's also pretty minor but a goofy design choice.

Maybe we had the same knife!?

Although the handle taper wasn't narrower toward the back end.

    Mine flipped pretty decent.

    oh damn

so they released a handful on bushings with a latch?????

ig flippers are pissed because theirs are bearing minus latch and wonder about the mix up

    how could you flytanium?

*that was a joke because people hate bearings

    no takers i see

I tried it and opted a Talisong instead, I'll probably pick one up when flytanium puts them up on their site. Staying on a budget at blade show is hard ;-)

Several have popped up on the secondary market. I respect that certain things are available at blade show and to those who attend it. But when you see those things for sale the day after at a gross profit....eh. Rare customs....OK. This is a production piece. Have some patience and dont over pay.

That's not a talisong. They used to make a talisong. That's not it.

I like it. Hopefully I can get my hands on one and they don’t sell out fast as FUCK like most cool things seem to do.
