After the fall of the barrier, my first clear thought was to somehow get to the city alive, enter it and buy a decent weapon. Good thing they didn't care much about coins back in the valley, so I could easily collect and stash away some for harder times.
I tell you, those orc scouts roaming the woods were quite hard to avoid. They have the nose of a bloodhound and as if that wouldn't be enough, I bet they can see in the dark too, or at least hear my clumsy trashing I call stealth...
I reached the gates in one piece, tho I ran into some wolves before and in the middle of the fight (I was running actually, but that sounds not quite heroic in an epic tale) a few nasty goblins managed to lighten me of my purse. Damn those rascals! I would like to skin 'em alive so bad!! Only I had the means...
Anyway I guessed right. The city still was secure and with the help of my old friends, a few jingling coins tucked into my boots, entering it proved to be a piece of cake. The guards are still under payed, just like in the old days, so they are always open for a little "discrete discussion".
The mighty city of Khorinis, prized jewel on the King's crown!
Well, at least that's what it was before the invasion. Now only a pallid shadow of its former self, a backwater settlement, nothing more, waiting to be ransacked and sweeped away from the face of the earth by the horde. Which, by the way could happen any moment, as soon as the last of the paladins leave. Lucky for me they are still here and not too lucky for me, they also confiscated every weapon in town, and the smith Harad is also kind of seized by them, working day and night, forging swords like a madman. - "DUTY" - he says, huh... don't make me laugh...
But he saw the remaining silver coins I fished out of my boots, and you know how the saying goes: "every saint has a past and every sinner has a future" so now I sit here, in this seedy inn, wait and drink. He said he has some off cuts and bits of steel, leftovers from previous swords. Maybe he can forge something useful out of them. Who knows...
"Buuuuuurrppp" - erupts a stout belch from the audience, a chronic boozer and last man still in the alehouse at this hour, before collapsing under the table.
Well now... I guess it is time to see, what the smith came up with...
    And here she is!
It is 33.5 cm long, the blade is 18.5 cm long, 4 cm wide and 5 mm thick, forged of many off cuts, bits and pieces of previous blades and billets. A scrapmascus!
The handle is made of antler and bone. All housed in a thick leather sheath.

Hope you guys like it :)

The spine work looks interesting. Do you have a better picture of the spine? I'd really like to see that.

What I can see though, looks great!

Sorry I don't have a closer picture of that part, and the knife is already gone.
But I tell you gladly what you see. :) It is arc welding, just like on my roach killer knife 2 years ago.
