Mikes Tach 2 will be soon back on the bench.

The blade was coated black, in trying to attain a mirror it always seemed to have a haze. I wasn't pleased with that finish. The project got placed aside, that and other things in the mix.

I've got something up my sleeve to try with it after discussing it with Mike. Product is slated for tomorrow delivery just by chance. :madaddy:

    More to come. :devilcorn:

Fail at Chemistry 101 . :unintroduced: :bwah:

    Seems 154CM won't take a Bluing.

I did read up that stainless steels would not react I was hoping there would be a high enough carbon content in the Tach 2 blades that I would get a reaction. Nothing, nada.

Anyone have an AA blade they want to blue ? :ropeman:

I do have an AA, but will not want to blue it. :manganr:

I wonder what a gun blued blade would look like.

Hmm, need to look up some examples.

If you know a local gunsmith, they can blue (more black really) stainless steel using Brownells Oxynate No 84. It's a hot blueing process and needs 5 pots (3 heated) to be done.
