Hey all. Tuesday I receive my full size grinder . But I was donated a small 1x30 belt grinder.

So the work commences . :manganr:

The Tach 2 blade spine really was rough finished like they didn't take any time post milling to dress it up.

Today I brought it down past most of the milling marks, less the small area hear the horns on the tang. I've got a plan to address that area to come.

Then I will crown it so it has no sharp corners . Started the slight rounding process in this image as well.

Now that shop tools are rolling in will work the blade to where I would like it to be before I go back to polishing.

Devilz love pix no ? :madaddy:

I plan on manufacturing my own machining jigs/ holding fixtures, why buy them if I can make them . :madaddy:

These couple pieces of wood will do till I get my steel in. :devilwag:

So needing to get close into the horn area keeping the part good and strait I will be using the temporary made jig.

Using Dremel bits in drill press , makes for easy access. :manganr:

I saw Mr Bill post this in the Tempest blade thread ! Thanks Bill .

What a smooth crown job. I like your attention to detail, that looks nice.
But, you should call it a "clown job".

Your "clown job" looks great, makes mine looks really sloppy.

I did mine on the 1x30 free handed. I also did it to the AB 1.0 too.

Sonny thanks , this was free hand on a 1 x 30 as well. My new grinder won't hit till tomorrow.

Also I should say, my first blade taken to a grinder. :ropeman:

Must be my dainty fingers. :bwah:

In my defense, I had dropped everything, including work on the db1, when I ran into health problems. :devilwag:

I've seen your mods, please don't get a grinder you would be dangerous. :ropeman:

In the not joking around part. It does look great and makes me want to start spending on grinding tools to have a go at this gamut. Just need a garage now...which would prolly be the biggest investment.
