My one and only shotgun. Its a J.C. Higgins Model 20, 12 gauge. Full Choke. From my research, it was made in 1952 by High Standard. The action is buttery smooth.

I've had this one awhile, fifteen years or so, and finally got around to taking a photo tonight. It was gifted to a kid that didn't want it. He walked it into a friend's gun shop; a friend that didn't want it either. It's a Mossberg 500 three-barrel combo pack (18" with shroud, 24" slug barrel, and 28" vent rib) - I gave the kid his $100 asking price, and later put on the speed-feed stock and sling. Totally reliable and somewhat versatile; with an approximate $160 total investment, I'm thinking I probably did OK... :jdwink2:

Picked this up a few days ago,Savage-Stevens 350 a Norinco made Ithaca 37 copy to be honest a pretty good value 12ga at the price I paid at the local Dunham's ($235+tax)

    View attachment 115514

Being a Norinco I had to make a few adjustments, changed a part, going to get a youth stock to shorten the LOP.

    Otherwise good to go

    High Standard 12 Gauge

I know that some High Standard 12 Gauge Shotguns were "ordnance bomb" marked. This High Standard is not marked with any model numbers; this is the 4th one I've owned; sold two previously so now I have two again. This has the characteristics of a Model K-120; 18-1/8" barrel, 6 round capacity. Yes; I did say 18-1/8" barrel! My other High Standard shotgun is marked K-1200 and Riot; its the fancy version with rifle sights - and is marked "CPD No. 5" which we think means Chesterfield (Township) Police. Chesterfield is about 25 miles from here, off of I-94 Northeast of Detroit.

    Here's my latest Boom Stick...

Before Beretta made the Benelli M1 Super 90 they made the branded model the 1200 and the model 1201. The 1201 was made in several versions; the one I just acquired is the 1201 FP; made by Beretta for military and law enforcement applications; this one has a ghost ring rear sight and an 18-1/4" barrel. Like the Benelli M1 it is a semi-automatic that uses the inertia from the recoil spring for its action. Supposedly fast, it is said that you can fire 5 rounds before the 1 empty hull hits the ground. I don't know if I can pull the trigger that fast! But I will try.
