Ya'll do this for fun, right? Wadda ya' do when you wanna get down and dirty ... :bwah:

Those are lovely pix - I like to look at snakes but I'll keep my distance from real ones if possible. Do you take anti-venom with you when you go snakin? How many times have you been bitten?

Horny toads and owls rule! I think we've got a barn owl in our barn - I hear it but I haven't seen it yet. It goes Hoo Hoo ...

Deadeye, I have been catching venomous snakes for going on nearly 30 years now and have never been bit. I am a bit more careful with them now days than I was years ago.

The conditions which anti-venom needs to be kept and administered precludes it being carried around. Following 99.99 percent of rattlesnake bites, the victim needs to get to a hospital within 6-10 hours, preferably sooner. So the bit-ey has time.

Awesome shots of some very cool snakes and other belly crawlers.

I'd never heard of a burrowing owl before but now I'm intrigued. Cool. :coolkid:

30 years an never been bit - that's my kind of man! :bwah: It's good you are more careful now - it's so easy to get just a bit distracted or careless from repetition ... of course you have good reason to keep your focus. I've heard even with anit-venom, it's a nasty recovery.
