I've been debating if it's time to let a couple of my cars go. One is 235k and I won't miss her much but the other is 145k young and I still love her. Just racking my brain if installing a set a tires worth 1/3 of the truck is worth it.

You guys keep them running forever, run them into the ground, or sell em off before repairs start getting serious?

I've always been a repair kinda guy but it isn't as cheap as it used to be.

I started driving for Lyft and Uber last May. I traded in my last Jeep for a 2011 Acura MDX with 72K miles on it. Due to an accident, I didn't drive much in July. Last night I turned over 108K. It turns out that my mileage has knocked me back to being upside down, so I won't be trading it anytime soon. I'll be keeping it for a while, looks like.

My Grand Cherokee has 242,500 on her. I just spent $800 on new tires, so as long as it keeps running, I'll keep driving. I've been fortunate that I haven't had to spend a shit load on repairs (other than those tires! :wallet:), so....

I tell folks that the value of my ride varies, depending on how much gas is in the tank! :bwah:

Yo perado, that MDX should run forever. My 235k is an 04 MDX and mechanic thinks it has another 100k in it.

My other ride is a Jeep Liberty. Rides like an apple cart but I love it and have put a lot of love into it. I’ve let one person test drive it and I was dreading that he might have brought cash so maybe I’ll get some news tires and call it a day.

My 2000 GMC Sierra SLT 4x4 has almost 140,000 miles on her. Still drives like a Cadillac so she deserves another set of Michelin LTX2 M/S tires after this winter...

1998 Tahoe with 330,000 miles original drive train still going strong. I change oil every 5000 to 6000 miles, only use 1 quart between changes. So I fix this one it is a keeper.

Against my cheapish judgement (outside of knives of course), I gave into desire and got a newish toy. Still going to rock the plus 100k Tacoma, but my redneck urban car lot needed a downsizing and the V8 is too much fun.

My new car only has 55,000 miles on it. But it's a 2017 Buick Verano. I had a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT, and I would repair what needed it until finally I snapped 2 rods on the way home. It had 275,xxx miles on it. BUT I got Angel in 2010 with 40,000 miles on her. So I put 235,000 miles in 6 years.

My oldest and highest-mileage car is a '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee that my wife and I bought new 2 weeks after we got married. It's been a recreation-only vehicle since 2004 and it got a 88K miles. We're giving it to our oldest son when he get's his driver's license in about 4 weeks.

When my last Tacoma had 80K at 14 years old; and a $300 part couldn't get the check engine to go out it was time for an upgrade. I like my new truck better.

I lease cars now, and usually sign up for a deal that gives me 5000miles per year on a 2 yr contract.
My last car, a 2.0 Audi A6 went back in October with just over 9000 miles on the clock, I got a Mazda 6 to replace it and so far, I've only done a bit under 2000miles.

2005 Volvo S60 2.5T 66,000 from new plan to keep for few years yet.

My brother had a 1998 Volvo V70 2.3 T5 with LPG conversion, did 450,000 miles original transmission and engine just stunning, and it’s still going strong!

Well I bought a 2005 Ford Taurus when I needed something larger. I always made fun of them and never thought I'd drive one. I knew a actually honest used car dealer and he let me have it cheap with 40k miles. My youngest drives it now with 160K and its running strong still. Gave it to my oldest when I found another 2005 with low miles. It has a few over 100K and I was driving it for a while before we switched it all up. My 2013 Camry just hit 14K and I'm not getting anything else soon. Most of my check goes to car and health insurance.

It may be a white automatic '02 Jetta...but at least its diesel. Just rolled over the 200k mark.

I'm curious to see how long she will kick. All is good under the hood as far as I can tell, but I'm no wrench wizard.
