    It is easy with J.'s method. So easy, even I can do it. I bought myself a Baldor 1x42" grinder and have it set up strictly for slack belt. This machine does little but shaping handles and putting edges on blades. I even bought the leather belt.

    Thanks for the reply! Another question occurred to me if you don't mind:

    Was this blade being re-sharpened or was it new one? Do you follow the same procedure for the first sharpening of a new knife (grits, technique, etc.) as shown in your video?

    I believe is was an finished blade that I knocked the edge off of. Is use the same method regardless of it being a new blade or a re-sharpening job.
