That wood just amazes me every time I look at it. You can't even enjoy the hamon on that pic.

I need to break out the camera.

highly figured curly maple(fiddleback, tiger, flame, quilted, lace, etc) are some of my favorites;the play of light, like sunlight dancing on tiger's-eye stone...mmm. Listen,Stephan;don't know if you're interested, but I have a wild stabilized 'denim' buckeye burl block I been savin' for a special knife...but if you like it,I'd be happy to see it go to another good home(provided you sent me some pics of it's new home!) You want it,it's yours Bro... [IMG]

    Another S-Guard

Latest Bowie to come out of my shop

I've had several orders for this S-Guard Pattern and their kinda fun

I'm REALLY pleased with how the blade and guard came out.
wished the customer had gone with Stag or Fancy Ironwood
but I think the Green Canvas Micarta works out rather nicely

the early years..............notice the tapered tang on the small one. That knife is one of the sharpest I own. Both have a really nice hamon too.

Awesome!!! Have you given it a name yet? It got a great response when I put pics in the WSS section on BF. You did a great interpretation from my drawing and the exposed steel on butt area will toss sparks from flint, chert and / or jasper which is a great bonus to a wilderness style knife.

Anything is better than camp style knife, I originally called my drawing "camper's envy".

I do like the terms Frontier & Klondike, here are a few off of the top of my head:

    "The Klondike"
    "The Frontiersman"
    "New Frontier"
"Klondike Mountain" - goes along with your "stone mountain"
"Flint mountain" - goes along with the fire starting capabilities and "stone mountain"

I kinda like the "Frontier" aspect of that knife, the rough forged finish and the rugged utility of it kinda works.

Those are both variations of my Springer Mountain model

I honestly like making that model more than any of the others, there's just something about it that I really enjoy building.
I'm thinking about doing one for the blade show in W2 with SS bolsters and Ironwood

    Here's my blade named "Hercules"

This one already has seen some pretty hard use/abuse but it still holds very well up.

This blade is also the reason why I sold all my Busse's and other knives (only got a Hill Knives SOK left). It just fits my hand perfect and when chopping alot of wood I don't get any blister on my hand. It's a joy to use it in the woods.
