I have a knife that's stoned on acid. Actually I have used ferric acid to put a patina on my RAT 1 D2 blade and then stoned washed it in a plastic quart container.

It's pretty easy to do. BE CAREFUL WITH ACID!
I desolved a small amount of steel wool in muriatic acid then added in twice as much hydrogen peroxide to make the ferric acid. --using a plastic container for the acid---
I then half filled a plastic quart container with gravel, added a couple ounces of water and a squirt of dishwashing detergent.
Dipped the removed blade in the acid for about 5 minutes and sprayed the blade off with Windex put the blade in the container with the rocks and rolled it around for about 5 minutes.
