Do you keep a maintenance Kit and if so, what do you have in it?

I figured it might be common to have such kits for setting up and keeping care of balisongs.
Do you have one and if so, what do you keep in yours?
    I have:

    Militec
    Assorted small tools
    Metal-Glo Polish
    Small sharpener
Micro-fibre cloths for cleaning and polishing

I would like to get a better sharpener, a few have recommended a spyderco sharpmaker.
I keep all the above and my knives in a small aluminum briefcase.

I got sick of doing the hunt so I put it altogether in one kit.
Thanx, I though it was a pretty cool pic for an avatar

I have all of that in a junk drawer.

The Sharpmaker from Spyderco is great. It is easy to use and it has lots of usages. I got mine for my folders and now using it on my balisong too.

If you use your Bali as an EDC I would include a leather strop
    in a maintenance kit.
I use one on my EDC folders to keep them hair popping sharp
without having to remove any metal which is what a sharpener
    will do.
Besides, I do like mirror polished edges

I have never seen anyone mention earth magnets as part of a knife kit. I tend to loose screws/pivots/springs ect.. when ever I take knives apart. Used to use a small zippo box, but ended up knocking it over alot of times. 4-5 Magnet discs on an old file and you can secure all knfe small parts. Also good for placing ball bearings in pivots.

All of mine is scattered in my apt too.

    Torx set
    blue lube/cleanser
    alcohol
    loctite
    cue tips
    tooth brush
    flitz
    japanese whetstone 1000/6000 grit
    Strop-man

I've never used a sharpmaker, but I def would recommend a whetstone. For one, it's really fun working with and two it gets my knives shaving sharp.

I have a two corner bench that houses my reloading equipment on one side and a cleaning/maintenance station on the other side. I use the maintenance area to store all the stuff I need for my guns and knives.

That area is clean and well organized. Now the rest of my abode :manganr:

    Alcohol
    Q-tips
    Loctite
Lansky honing kit/Spyderco sharpmakers/Smith's tri-hone (I prefer the lansky) which includes the honing oil which came with the Lansky kit.
    Husky torx driver
Duck brand duct tape (great for keeping hardware in one place when I take it apart)
    Paper towels.

I was thinking about adding flitz or something.

Great idea, but I plan to get one of these for a long time, see below. I just have to remember to go down to harbor freight to get one.

my bali box is a small tool box.

the top is all first aid. clean strips of cloth included. liquid bandage, crazy glue, neosporin etc etc

the tray under the lid is tools, torx sets, extra screws and stuff, oils, brush, loc tite etc etc

down in the tool box is the actual balisongs. so i have to keep them sheathed, also my 3 sided whetstone is down there.

freehand sharpening is way more fun than bunny ear style sharpeners. in my mind, freehanding is the only option for to-the-grave knife freaks.

i prefer to be ever mobile. so the junk drawers and display setups are a hellno for me.

Though I agree every knife enthusiast should know how to sharpen by hand......I like fire but I'm not rubbing sticks together to get it unless I got to!!:jdwink2:

Agreed. I think it's starting become a lost art. Even in the kitchen I work in all the knives are sharped by sharpening truck guy that comes every other week.

the sharpening guy that comes to the sawmill charges about a dollar a tooth on some blades, they come back dipped in wax.

Also in the bali box, i have this little cermic filament from a street light. its almost clear, really great for polishing the edge down after the stones...

oh yeah, also i keep a small baby powder in the box. i like to dust my hands before i flip.

    Lansky sharpening kit
Pocket diamond stone for touchups & fishhooks
    Torx set
    Blue loctite
    A few spare screws
Food-grade CRC 5.56 (I use my bali for food quite often so need a non-toxic oil)
    Microfiber cloth
    Small paintbrush
Superglue + plasters for the nastier cuts

All kept in a drawer, with other random stuff. The pocket stone, microfiber cloth and superglue come with me when I go somewhere
