So I have been working on a channel mid-tech design and it is getting ready to be put into production. I am going to be making a limited run of 100. It will come in at around 4.5 to 5 oz. The pics show the roughed out prototype, it will have a latch on it. My question is should I keep the groove in the handles or should I remove the groove and countersink the holes?

I've never had balis with a channel like that in the handles, but I'd like too :devilzeek. Does it feel slippery in hand? I'd think it would make it easier to manipulate.

I think that groove in handles look more unique and fewer out there while countersink hole pattern is quite dominant. But either way, I love to see how this will turn out :) that weight range sounds sweet

Hammer's custom Replicant scales have a groove down the handle faces, and they feel amazing. I agree with seandavid55 too; countersink that whole thing.

Keep the groove. It’s one of the few balisong handle features that isn’t overused yet.

    I say do both!

Keep the groove and countersink the holes.

    ***They wouldn't expect that.

I guess if you think about it, some of the best Ti flippers in the world have that groove down the handles. ELB ProFlipper, Palethius, etc. I own them both and I can't imagine them without the grooves. SO GROOVY

The groove is going to stay!. All the parts are currently at the shop. The blade steel is going to be Cpm154 and it is at the water jet cutter. I need to cut the titanium to length and drill the holes then it's off to have the channel and goves machined
