all new model pistols to be sold in California must have micro stamping to be added to the "roster".

this state was allright twenty years ago.... now not so much.

Following the issuance of the Department of Justice's certification, the provisions of Penal Code section 31910, subdivision (b)(7)(A) are in immediate effect. Therefore, to be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale in California, a semiautomatic pistol must be equipped with microstamping technology-i.e., a microscopic array of characters that identify the make, model, and serial number ofthe pistol, etched or otherwise imprinted in two or more places on the interior surface or internal working parts ofthe pistol, and that are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired. (Pen. Code,ยง 31910, subd. (b)(7)(A).) Semiautomatic pistols already listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale in California will remain on the roster and need not incorporate the microstamping technology provided that the firearms comply with Penal Code sections 32015, 32020, and 32030.

This only would impact any new semi-automatic pistols (not revolvers) made by manufacturers that already have a magazine disconnect and are going to be submitted to Sacramento.

    And now the lawsuits start....

    :devilfinger: To Cali.

They have the dumbest laws. I had a chance to handle an AR-15 with that dumb magazine release button. Talk about a PITA.

Norcal. I would have to do the same if I lived there. There are just too many great (and free) places to live then to stay in Cali. It will only get worse too.

SC would love to have you.

What would they place this marking on? The extractor? The ejector?
That's an awfully small surface area to put some micro marking on so
    each cartridge is "stamped".

In addition to this they do know that it's not very hard to replace an
    ejector and/or an extractor right?

You can replace an entire upper for that matter and uppers can be mailed
to your door. The people who write these laws don't know the laws
and don't know anything about firearms.

I don't think they care about the science or the usefulness; it is just an opportunity to keep a database of gun owners. I would leave the state if that was financially practical but I still need to get my piece of the pie before I move northward.

Has anybody ever accused anti-gun people of having a single shred of knowledge on what they are trying to ban? I dont think so. Even if it is a 'micro-stamp" any one of us the routinely shoots their weapon knows that all parts, metallic or not, tend to wear down over time. How long are they planning on this micro-stamp lasting in real time? People are stupid as shit, and shit can be extremely stupid.

sucks to have idiots in population centers decide what laws make sense.
i live 500 miles away from south central LA ... but somehow we need the same gun laws?
    hi-caps aren't a problem.
before the ban i listened to the old guys and bought mags for guns i didn't even own and couldn't afford at the time.
i was born and raised here.
i know the best places to hunt, fish, dive.... family lives here.... it's going to be hard.

it'll be three to five years before we could pay off our place and my wife to finish school.
i'm thinking couple hours north of seattle..... i just can't get my head around not being close to the ocean.

they are talking about the firing pin from what i read.

if i did own one of these guns i would never fire it at a range.

whats to stop some prick from picking up brass, scattering it at a murder scene and laugh while
watching police follow five separate dead ends?

it would kinda suck to be beating off to internet porn and have your
door kicked in for a murder warrant. :ropeman:

That can be replaced as well. And good point about picking up someone
    else's casings.

The only thing I can think of that would be tough is the breech
face. You'd have to replace the entire slide, unless you had an
old Sig which has a replaceable one.

Norcal. I believe it would be very hard to move away from what you have always called home. Moving sucks ass. Making new friends, everything's different and starting over on everything. I've moved a lot in my life.

I really don't see California turning it around for the better. So even though it would be hard. Staying around and staying on the sinking ship that's straight up FUCKING people out of their freedom would be harder.

My wife and I are thinking Montana. Wherever I go I will have to explain that I am not a SF douchebag, who is going to try to bring my morality and inflict it on them, trying to pass asshole laws in whatever community I settle in. Oh wait, that's what everyone does when they move here.
