I've been working on Robert Jorden's "Wheel of Time" series. On book 3 now. They are well written and entertaining but I've been unsatisfied with the endings so far.

Had someone else recommend these recently, gonna have to put them on the reading list.

Just finished Niel Gaiman's "American Gods." Really great read. First book of his I've read but looking forward to more.

Maureen gave me a paperback copy of John Grisham's "The King of Torts" months ago. I usually read it at night but fall asleep after reading one chapter. I'm only up to chapter 27. Not the book's fault... I shouldn't read while lying in bed.

I've been reading a lot of Joe R. Lansdale's work.

He's a talented writer, but not PC at all. I'm very open minded, and even I get disgusted by some of his language and imagery.

I just finished a really good book "House to House" by David Bellavia. It's a very graphic telling of fighting in Fallujah, Iraq. Bellavia got quite a few medals for his actions in Iraq. You can check out an interview with him on Youtube also:

I'm working on the SAS Survival Handbook, by John Wiseman. It is a fairly complete guide to all aspects of survival in the wild, including finding food and shelter. I find it useful to read through something like this every few years. There are some great ideas that I hope I will never have to try for real.

Just finished the last book in the Mr. Mercedes series by Stephen King, "End of Watch". Recently read "The Nasty Bits" by Anthony Bourdain. I have the Inheritance series (Aragon) that I'm reading to my 8yr old which I do a chapter every morning at breakfast. This is really fun since I read these books almost 16 years ago.
