    Instead of the BMW R75/5

I found this bike instead; the wife commented on how much she liked it...compared to the R75/5:

    1977 BMW R100S with a RS Fairing

After the 50 mile ride home from the shop the actual mileage is 57,220 miles.

I bought this bike from the original owner; a 23 year retired Army Sargent First Class; although not with the bike, I suspect that somewhere at home he has a folder with all the service records. He installed heated hand grips; a mount for a radar detector, and with this particular series of BMWs the fuses are inside the headlight housing; he installed circuit breakers in conjunction with the fuses. He wanted $4,950 for the bike; I offered $4,000 and we settled on $4,250; for another $100 I got a BMW Tank Bag with all the fasteners, extender, and rain cover. Underneath the seat is the original seat box containing the complete tool roll, electrical tape, spare light bulbs, a spare new spark plug, extra nuts, bolts, washers, screws; a spare set of points, and in the back box, the owner's manual, spare spark plug wire, wire ties, and the owner's manual. Also under the seat is a cable lock to secure the bike and a hand air pump.

I rode the bike home from Sterling Heights, MI to Port Huron, MI (around 50 miles) - the bike runs great.

Nice find! Looks like a real prize!

    Love those old BMW's!

A buddy has an early '70's BMW with the big slab tank that I've been trying to get for about 15 years. He bought it and rode it to work one time. The carbs weren't right, so he parked it in the garage, meaning to fix it. He has about a dozen Harleys, and has never gotten around to the Beemer. I doubt he ever will, and I've been pestering him for so long, I think he'll eventually sell it to me just to shut me up.

Brings back a lot of memories.
    It looks tidy and clean.
Biggest difference with the RS is that the S has a higher gearing.
A good and fast bike, a lot better then a /5.

    thanks,

we trying to help the guys out who are developing the frame kit,
as we have allot off knowhow about buell ( the most part off the donor bike )

but i like it so much, and i have a donor bike waiting ( my old racer )
so when the frames are ready, we will get one, and i will strip my race bike for it.

Erik.. start grinding :bwah: , no just kidding.. we first need to see how the ball will roll, before we can even put a price tag on a bike like this

    Nice Jarvis,
i like the paint job on the v-rod

I think that's about the hottest BMW bike I have ever seen. Most of them sit on the realms of plain fucking ugly but that is fucking stunning!:devilzeek

Sure looks ''interesting'' ( the good kind).
    How many cc's?

Only, I never got used to that exhaust, down there.
You build her this winter and she'll be your ride to the next DKE?
Does look to be a mean streetfighter.

mine will be 1160 cc ( short stroke big bore )
this configuration refs up nice about 98 HP and 120 Nm ( 90 ft/lbs ) on the back wheel
the exhaust on the picture is a stock one, looks fuck ugly,
we have send him already a nice looking and good performing exhaust

i need my other bike to the DKE, so i can stuff all the knives in the hard cases :bwah:
but yeah, is the plan as we speak,

Nice. Sort of a "Buell meets XR750 Flat Tracker" hybrid.

Sweet. The R/RS is still, to my mind, the prettiest motorcycle ever mass produced. Hans Muth struck gold with that design.

I really need to get one of my bikes back up and running. I have neglected them for far too long.
