Big Eye IPA from Ballast Point tonight. Never had it before, seems to get no hype compared to Sculpin. It was good but Sculpin is generally more to my taste with the juicy fruit flavors.

Last few months I've really been getting into Goose Island beers especially Ten hills pale ale and the 312 wheat ale

Speaking of Goose Island has anyone tried the Illinois DIPA? The art deco style label caught my eye more than anything else but I've never had anything in that style from GI.

Drank a Stone Enjoy By 7/4/14 tonight. Happened to find it cheap at Trader Joe's so I figured it was worth the buy. It was what you figure it'd be, a good hop bomb, but didn't blow me away. Fine for the $6 I paid but I think the usual going rate of $8-10 around here would be a mediocre value. Very drinkable for the 9.4% but that could partly be due to gorging on Chinese food for dinner and having something to absorb the booze.

I certainly won't be making the dogfish 120 a regular, at 10 bucks a bottle I would much rather spend my money elsewhere but just had to try it once, glad I did, very different.

Sippin a few of these for the 4th! Tasty!

Colorado, went out to Winter Park Co last weekend for a relative's wedding. Beautiful country. This beer had a good balance of hoppy bitterness and fruityness.

Wormtown Be Hoppy. Flies off the shelves when it comes out in cans, which isn't nearly as often as we might like. A great IPA and as fresh as possible for coming through the retail chain. I must admit it created something of a geek out condition when I was able to get 12 cans. :manganr:

Also a few bottles of Bog Iron in there. Got a saison and an amber, both made with rye. Congratulations are due to these guys for just opening up their new taproom space.

The beer that got me through college. Been too long since I had a proper pint of it.

Wake up Dead stout from Left Hand. Quite smooth with the nitro. Nice flavors and could not taste a lick of the 10%. Seriously, you could whack down a glass in no time at all. You'd pay for it a little later though. :manganr:
