I showed up there at 9AM local time. Saw a bunch of cars and thought I showed up late!
Very friendly group of people, also very busy!!! Everybody was hustling!

I was told to make myself at home and was given a tour.

Things will kick off tonight around 5:30PM, I was told, for a meet and greet and to sign some paperwork.

    See ya there!!!

While all you JD'ers were making knives,
My Daughter had Girl number three!

    How cool is that?
Very appropriate she was born on the 14th.
They haven't figured out her middle name yet and I thought something JD would fit...:manganr:

    I don't think Ronlad works for a girl!!!:bwah:

I'm back in my motel room in Bemidji, Minnesota after going to grab some grub.

It feels strange to be traveling alone again after spending a few days in Escanaba with great friends old AND new.

I'd like to add my thanks to Mike and the whole crew at Bark River. EVERY person there went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. And they're all damn good at what they do. Great people, every one.

It was wonderful to see old friends again, and to put a few faces together with names as I made some new friends.

I made a knife that I'll treasure for the rest of my life, so that's cool, too.

Looking at the knives laying on the tables at the banquet, I was astonished by the quality of the build and design on them all.

Anyone who thinks that they couldn't possibly build a cool knife should know that most of the top awards this year went to first time builders - who just happened to be women.

If you really like knives, you owe it to yourself to go to at least ONE Grind-In. (And, I'm pretty sure that if you go to one Grind-In, you'll go back again.)

What happens in Escanaba STAYS in Escanaba... and it's pretty fuckin' cool.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make it so awesome.

And, congratulations, Geezer! My beloved sister Rose (who I miss every day) shared that September 14 birthday with your young'un.

This. It never ceases to amaze me how out of the way, The Stewart family, and Bark River Crew go to make us all feel welcome.
We are always treated as if we're one of them, and for that, i say thank you.
