    At the risk of sounding like a fool, is there something specifically special about the 48? (Were they produced in much lower numbers than the others, special story, etc)

    It appears to me to be a FFG BM 45, and they pop up semi-regularly for about 300-350 USD.

    It's a rarity relative to the 45. I've seen it go for sale a few times, but not with the frequency the 45 and the 44 do. For those who want to assemble a complete set of 4X blades, it's generally one of the harder ones to get, unless you want to get into the really rare specials.

    Thanks for the quick explanation.
    Now that you mention it, the 48 definitely does show up way less on the secondary market than the 45 and 44.
