    Hi Guys,
Recently I purchased a burl wood Godfather. Love the knife, hate the scales. Is there a place that sells aftermarket scales for these great knives? I reached out to Pro Tech via email but have yet to hear back from them.
    Thanks!

I don't believe you will find in stock ready to go scales in stock anywhere. But with a trillion knife pimpers out there you should have no problem having anything you desire made.

That's what they call the overlays on little baby knives. California-legal autos and such.

ProTech makes/sells various replacement scales. Be patient...

You started in the right place. If Pro-tech will sell them to you, they'll be the best fit.

You might try Adams International Knifeworks. I know that they sell Pro-Tech autos with their own custom scales.

It wouldn't surprise me if neither Pro_Tech nor AIK wants to sell you just scales, but both would likely customize your knife with scales if you send it to them.

Wise words. They replied to me inquiry. They must have been on break for the holidays.

My burl wood Godfather will soon be dressed in Tuxedo scales.

    Thanks for all the replies!

    Protech scales

Just finished mammoth ivory scales for my Godfather. I think I'll do tiger coral too.

Good looking Godfather. Those scales are beautiful. And now I'm again convinced my first auto just needs to be a Godfather. To hell with something I can EDC.

And to the OP... Before and after pics!?

    Sell33,

I don't have a torx that is small enough. It's still wearing the burl wood scales. They've actually grown on me. I'll make sure to do a before and after before swap 'em out.

    Try an Allen Wench .

Protech screws aren't torx , not one I've taken apart have them. :devilcorn:

    Damn Glenn, made me look...

FWIW, on my PT Brends at least, the body screws are Allen (Hex).

But the scales and clip screws are Torx...

Oops, To add, the Flyfather Bali has Torx at the pivots.

The Godson has Allens at the scales and body. Holding one in hand now.

I don't have a Brend here atm and the ones I did just had body Allen screws no scales to take off . So I guess I have spoken incorrectly. :unintroduced:
