I probably would own a bunch of Glocks, but here in MA a used one costs as much as a new SIG. Also, a full capacity mag, to be legal here, has to be pre-94, as we still has an AWB in effect. So I have a P226 and a 229 and a lot of preban mags. If the AWB ever gets lifted, I probably will niy a couple 19s or a couple S&W M&P 9s and a lot of full cap mags for them.

I've heard that 21s were being used by "Special Operations" units in Afghanistan.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your MOS?

One thing I like about my 1911 is that it accepts a variety
of bullet types. Hollow points and Semi Wad Cutters feed
with no problems. Can't say the same with all my other semi
autos. Also varying lengths don't seem to affect
it like it does with some of my 9mm handguns. This is good
for a guy who reloads like myself.

If you notice in his vids he mentions that some semi autos
won't accept hollow points as easily and this isn't uncommon.

Not to say it's a fatal flaw of a pistol if it can't shoot a certain
kind of ammo. But I like my guns to shoot anything I feed it.
My 1911 does that with hand loaded rounds.

It's wider. Doesn't that equal an infinitesimal greater chance? :bwah:

Have you never heard it said "The bullet missed (enter important body part/organ here) by 100th of an inch.."

    .45 solves that , hahaaahaha

You really should read more of the thread. Shot placement is mentioned repeatedly.

There is no way is H E L L this thread is gonna end well. We all know that right? No matter how we feel about either gun? Can we agree on that?

It comes down to skill, and mindset of craftsman with the tool of HIS choice, NOT the tool itself.

So tonight I get an email from this post being a Mod here and all.
I've been busy the last few days getting the real job in order so I can travel up to Michigan to Bark River Knives to have some fun.

I've read every post and I think I'll throw my own thoughts in here.
First off I use my own name so if you want to know my qualifications I'm sure you can Google it. My experience stands easily with any one here up to and surpassing our video maker.

33 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, A Primary Handgun / Rifle and Shogun Instructor, A Senior Tactics Instructor and an adjunct Instructor at Gunsite with Cooper. In fact LAPD was using Beretta's back then, I went through two of the primary courses with it.

This background is why Ron recruited me to be a Mod here.

The video is a commercial to go to the man's school.

1911 vs. Anything...... Doesn't matter. If you can't hit the target while under stress, doesn't matter what you carry, doesn't matter how many rounds.

The 1911 is considered a "Professional" weapon system. It takes more time to learn it, more time to master it. Multiple safeties and a consistent grip.

Glocks are more "reliable" out of the box, that is based on loose tolerances, which are not to the tolerances that modern 1911s are made to. Add this and the grip angle, weight of the pistol and recoil, shooters scores show the 1911s to be more accurate.

Glocks carry more rounds yes but a 1911 will allow a follow up shots to be on target quicker.

I carry a 1911 for a living, before that I carried a Glock. I have had more than a handful of real life experiences to call on. I have friends in every Tier One and Tier Two outfit. All of use what we like and are best with. All of us can hit what we need to under stress.

Sirius.... Brother I'm sorry but you come across as an Internet Expert.
Someone who reads something and makes an opinion based on someone else.
I truly feel you don't have much practical experience but you enjoy creating a bit of drama.
And because of that penchant for drama...
Do us a favor and voluntarily sit back and let the adults talk for awhile.

TopHat has called the ball, practice, perfect practice, add as much stress and then perfect practice some more, any Instructor worth his salt will tell you.

Lezard this isn't going to end badly because, in the end it doesn't matter what you use or how many rounds or even the caliber, shot placement is the only matter....

Squirrels are useless for self-defense. If you're going to defend yourself and loved ones with a rodent, I'd go with a porcupine. Lot's of bang for the buck.

I'll happily let you guys talk here. You're the mod.

I'll stay out of your sandbox because I've never done anything, don't know anything, and have nothing useful to say. You're so right. I'm an internet commando. I don't train, and actually don't won any guns. I'm just another stupid Civillian.

    Eat a dick, dude.
