Home from my first New York custom knife show in a couple years.........why the fuck weren't you pricks there ?
Mr. LaBella is one hell of a host.........the whole area is his town.
Great meals , great hanging with some superstar knife makers and enough laughs to do a month of sit com laugh tracks.
I wasn't going to buy any knives , so I only came home with three.
I am going to try and tell myself that before Blade next summer.
The thing about the NYC show is there is nothing cheap.
The closest to inexpensive was maybe some of the production Chris Reeve knives they had at their table.
    Seriously.
    There wasn't much under 500.00
At least Blade has a wide range of knives and prices.
Here , it was all the gourmet shit.
I got two prototype George Muller frame locks........he uses a pantograph to do the inlays and you can see on the purpleish one where he misses his mark on the inlay as it related to the screw hole.
between that , and him being a friend , I seriously scored on the pair.
If you aren't familiar with him , he is a South African maker who specializes in exotic materials and makes very high quality knives.
He didn't even want to sell these , and brought them more for show and tell as to what is coming.
I know he will have them perfected for Blade.
And after watching some of the Alliance in action , I had to buy me a Jerry Hom balisong trainer.
I'll never be that good , but I will look like much less of an asshole when I pull one out.
Thanks to all the Devils who did make the scene.
    BIG BIG fun !!

If for no other reason , Harold's Deli.
Fucking sandwiches as big as your head.
Well worth the trip for the food alone.
Here is a George Muller piece I have had for a while.........Damascus blade , dyed mammoth tooth scales , meteorite bolsters.......sick file work on the spine , ostrich skin sheath.
They guy is no shit good. IMG_2900.JPG IMG_2909.JPG

Another three degrees colder and I would have felt right at home.
The up shot is that it was way too cold for street crime , so I didn't have to stab anyone. :bwah::bwah:
