So, I worked my ass off today.... no time to pee let alone open a package... until 10 minutes ago... and I open the parcel...

I am speechless. These knives were actually a sad milestone for me.... they were made for a specific forum..... a forum I spent many years putting my time, effort and money into..... ultimately to be taken for granted by the very people it supported and helped... and as a result..... that forum failed. You can't make something great happen in a vacuum... no matter how hard you try. Trust me. I know this.

So the ZM...... never thought I would have one. Never had another "BL Exclusive Knife"... (that didn't end up being exclusive anyway )

Until today.

I honestly didn't want a ZM. It represented everything that was wrong with how things go down in forums.... how business gets put before friendship or honor or loyalty....

And then this damn thing shows up on my doorstep today.

There is no way I will ever part with this knife.

The fact of the matter is it didn't come from the person(s) it should have come from in the grand scheme of things....

It came from someone even better.

It came from someone that I have never done a damn thing for.... someone who I consider a friend, even though we had a rocky first interaction with (which is actually how I've made some of my closest friends on the net)....

And that makes this knife priceless.......

It's wasn't about business, or forums, or money, or forum bullshit... it was about someone stepping up to the plate and thinking "this gal deserves this." When the folks who should have had enough savvy to realize that many years over, have continued to fail in that regard.

I just got off the phone with DB because I was feeling guilty if I got this knife before he got his (and as it turns out, I did).

He told me he already knew about the transaction... Richard had contacted him about it... and he gave his blessing on it.

I don't know what to say.

Other than the fact you guys are incredible folks..... and I am blessed to know you.

It's interesting to find yourself at a cross-road where you find you have spent a lot of time, energy and money on certain people that probably didn't appreciate it or deserve it in the end.

But at the end of the day, you have real PALS.

Richard and DB are my PALS. And a big thanks to Ryan at BLG for "aiding and abetting" this transaction.

I have learned some valuable lessons in the last year about who is a real friend and who is not.

Thank you Richard (and DB and Ryan) for being real. Real friends. Real PALS.

A couple of things to keep in mind. The ZM was conceived as a EDC hardcore user knife...a cross between a SLCC and a DB and was pushed via needs of Jbravo/namor. We took his idea that had been back burnered for a longtime, applied the needs of the German guys over at badlands and I simply DB'd it with Mick and Duane. It is not a "Badlands" knife-a Badlands SMF already exists. It is a "user" knife which is why it will be priced where it is. It just happened that there were tons of Users at Badlands and very few whiners. Thus, most of the folks there "got it" and thus thats where it was offered.

In the case of M1, "knife user" is the key. M1 has put a ton of her life into training...for real with the best folks around at how to protect herself, and understands what a tool is for. A knife/tool USER is what the ZM is all about, and hopefully M1 will know that every time she cuts or pries the crap out of something, or is doing some hardcore edged weapon training with her ZM, she has a few dudes who had a vision smiling with her.
