Spyderco Military Fluted Titanium in S60V !

Must be a typo S60V is like 440V.

Check this out from Boker Germany:

    http://www.boker.de/taschenmesser/spyderco/01SP696.html

Seems even you can order the knife (???), bit weird Germany before the US and a crazy price at 400 Euro, doesn't say preorder.

Really looking forward to this one, maybe even gonna sell my C36CFP for it.

I have no idea what hammer time is. . . or how it differs from regular time.

The blade says S30V, my Turkish brother.
A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus," or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice.

It has the exact same item number as :
    http://www.knifeworks.com/spydercoti...orderonly.aspx

    Hersteller Art.-Nr.: C36TIFP
    Item Number: SC36TIFP

I question whether the S60V was a typo myself. The other information matches down to the exact same weight in grams (146g). Pre-order on the link I listed.. perhaps that's worth $350 to get one in hand like on the Boker site.

*edited* I didn't notice the S at the front of the KW listing... it's not exactly the same. My apologies. The weight and all other dimensions being identical makes me think its still discussing the same knife.

The C36TIFP will be S30V and have a MSRP of US$399 according to the Spyderco Pricelist that showed up in my mailbox, today.

Realistically, that ends up at around $240 to buy. It'll be regular production. Boring.

Shoulda been S35VN. The new Translucent Blue Manix is more interesting.

Did you check the info box below the picture? It says it right there.

    Klingenmaterial: Stahl

This is the first military I am really interested in. I know they are good knives but nothing "drew" me to them, the fluted Ti does... a lot.

400 euros? They must be smoking their own bacon over there....

It's kinda usual practice in European dealer pricing. Take MSRP in $, change currency symbol to € and think you got it made. Then all you need are customers who don't have half a brain, a credit card and the willingness to order from abroad.

I've sold a few Spydercos to Germany and France. Even at US$60 shipping (and I make nothing on that), it's still a deal to buy from North America.

    Question Soooo........

    It's been a month.......anybody got one?

  14. #14
Yep, I have one and it is S30V. Excellent knife, feels light in the hand with the fluting apparently shaving off a good bit of weight in the handle.

Yep. Exactly. As an example: I bought my first Mnandi for 600 Euros in Europe (stoopid me), the next 8 I bought from TNK (Canada) for about $395 to $425 each (lets say $410 average, + 30% shipping and import taxes, which makes $533. In Euros that's 386.

One wonders if these european knifeshops still sell knives...

As for the titanium handled Military, I kinda like it. I'm not a big fan of Spydercos, I think most of them are butt-ugly (except for the Terzuolas and the Centofantes). I do own a Military (CF + BG42), and I like the quality and the ergonomics.

    Kind regards,

    Jos
