Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Simple enough. THEY BURNT THE PLACE DOWN!! (not literally)

Awesome! Walter Trout is one of the best! I posted one of his tunes in the What are you listening to thread yesterday.![]()
Walter's playing the WC Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival in Henderson, Ky at 10pm Saturday, June 16.
This is the awesome FREE Blues Festival I attend every year.
Ronnie Baker Brooks, one of the best blues Guitarists I've ever seen will be on at 8pm.
I'll be seeing 18 bands Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The three I'm looking forward to the most are those two guys Saturday night, and Sonny Landreth Friday night.
People come from all over the US for this festival, and it's well worth the trip from anywhere.
Bring a lawn chair and meet me on the banks of the Ohio river!

I usually make a whole thread each year about my visit to the WC Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival, but this year is a little different.
I had just gotten home late from the first night I went (Wednesday, June 13) when I got a text from Glenn telling me of the passing of our buddy, Jerry "DaBird" Lameka.
I was so depressed that I almost didn't go back Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Then I started thinking about how Jerry had posted in this thread about really enjoying Walter Trout.
Blues music is all about overcoming adversity and not letting life get you down. The uninitiated think Blues are sad, but just the opposite is true. It's uplifting, joyous music that's a celebration of life.
And, god knows I needed a little uplifting. So, I went to the festival. I didn't take as many pictures as usual, and I slipped into silent thought a little more than my festival going companions, but I'm glad I was able to be with such large crowds of like-minded people.
It's about as close to going to church as I'm likely to go to any time soon, and it was my version of a wake for him.
I hope you don't mind this thread-jack, but I'd like to post a few pictures from the festival.
Walter Trout. Saturday, June 16
Ronnie Baker Brooks. Saturday, June 16.
Sonny Landreth. Friday, June 15.
Jimmy Hall. Saturday, June 16.
Jimmy started "Wet Willie" back in the '70's. He did his great hit "Keep On Smiling", which took on special meaning to me on this weekend.
And, here's one my favorite picture I took at the festival. Jimmy Hall's been touring with Hank Williams Jr. at various state fairs this summer. The guitar and bass players with him were from Hank Jr's band. The bass player was a good looking woman, ans she plays one hell of a stand up bass. And what's not to like about THAT?
RIP Jerry
