WOW--there are some real training issues here, I quess all these cops forgot about the cross fire drills and safe gun handling as well as down range rules, like know your fucking target and what is beyond it.
First off none of those cops should have gotten in front down range with their cars or in front of fellow officers when weapons were drawn. That would have been a real mess had the perp gone ape shit and gotten a lucky stab on the cop, you know full well the officer in the pinning crusier would have been hit in the volley of spray and pray gun fire.
And what the fuck was up with that piss poor baton strike, the dumbass not only practiced poor baton strike techn..., but lost it in the process.
As for the perp--fuck him, he got what he deserved
For starters unless you are an LEO I wouldn't make assumptions as to the lack of training these officers have. An LEO's job is to preserve human life whenever possible and their own lives. Those officers showed great restraint and used deadly force only when it was warranted. To do so beforehand would have been irresponsible. My father and brother are LEO's. They deal with shit like this everyday. I've been on scene at alot of confrontations just like this one where the result is the same. The cops would rather subdue the suspect rather than kill him. The cops in that video acted professionally and should be commended for their efforts, not condemned. The Statie that got in front of the officers with weapons drawn is another matter entirely and a reflection of the State cops' training. It may very well be that the suspect walked that far as to get close to the car but who knows.
