    Talking Tuffthumbz

I was nervous at first dealing with a fella with 'tuff' in his name. Thought he might be muscle for some knife conglumorate. No such problem. Tuffthumbz actually offered to lower the price before I even asked. Shipped the knife out super quick and great com. I will look forward to our next transaction.

Tuffthumbz A++ for a smooth sale

I just completed a sale of a ZT 0303 to Geoff. Payment was prompt and he was very easy to deal with.

    Wont be using tuffthumbz

Contacted the guy as I have a set of handles he made and I broke one in half and contacted him to make an extra. His exact words were.

"hmm dont know what to tell ya,i cant get that red and black anymore"

Now it struck me as odd because I actually know of a shit ton of places that supply red and black G10. He doesnt even ask offer to make one for a price if I supply the material. Service like this is what separates the men from the boys. I wasnt expecting him to make it for free. But anyways this is our entire exchange of words. Im not trying to start a flame war over this. I just think that if you make something, stand behind your work or at least work with someone. Dont just tell them, "hmm I dont know what to tell, you." Im putting this here because at the very least if you use this guy make sure that the material you choose to have him use is in plentiful supply.

Hello, my name is Tim Moran. Im a member of a few knife forums as purpledc. I recently (today) came into possession of a set of black and red G10 handle scales for a bradley kimura. Lovely work you do. Problem is I broke one. I was trying to remove the white plastic liner from one of the scales and the G10 snapped in half. Is there any way I could persuade you to make me just one scale? I dont even know if you have any more of this material left. Or do you possibly have a scale that just didnt turn out perfect that I could purchase from you? I would hate to have to scrap the whole set. Thanks in advance - Tim Moran

Wow Tim that sucks. If you want the knife fixed I'd be glad to do it for you. Are the handles anso scalloped? That really weakens G10 and it might not be the most durable thing for a tang pin knife.

    holy wow

that is just a flat out lie, You were not the first owner, the previous was warned about the scales and pattern not being a good choice, which is why i wouldnt use it again, now that would mean i would do the hole thing again for you for free....balisongs are a pain in the ass to pimp. I never refused, i told you to get your money back from the dude. so when you broke the scales im supposed to do them over? maybe if it was a job i did for you yes i would. So please tell the hole story. i assure everyone here that this is not a common problem, i never use a material if it has problems like this. I stand behind everything i do and i will go above and behind to make sure anyone who isnt 100% satisfied will be.

Tuff is a top notch pimper and great guy. He goes above and beyond for his customers. I know first hand. He pimped my Boker 67, witch was a pain in his ass and it's one of my best and and favorite knives. Solid as as a tank. There must of been something lost in the emails between you two.

Purple I don't know you dude, but I have to chime in with a good word for Geoff (Tuffthumbz)...Maybe you two just had a little miscommunication or something??? I have a few of Tuffthumbz pimp jobs and he has been great to deal with all the way. He even did a pain in the ass BM51 with record turnaround time for me too...

Sounds like you broke the scale...Did you offer to pay for his services to make another? Communicating your intentions and your needs might be the fair thing to do before throwing the dude under the bus like this... By his last post it looks like Geoff is already stepping up to help you. Maybe you should do the right thing and pay him for his services since you did break the scale trying to take it apart.

Tuffthumbz is a good guy, give the dude a chance and do the right thing on your side too...

Can't we all just get along

first off calling me a flat out liar is a fucking insult and simply disgusts me as the only one lying here is Geoff. People on this forum who have dealt with me on this forum know Im the real deal and I dont bullshit. Im not out to get anything for free and frankly that is fucking insulting.

I even said in my later emails that I wasnt looking for a handout and that I was fully prepared to pay to have one replacement scale made. I was told in his exact words. Dont you fucking DARE say that im lying about this.

Did you not see in my first email where I ask if there was a handle that maybe you had made that didnt come out perfect that I could "purchase"?

As of now I dont fucking want a damn thing from you. I contacted you with a problem and you told me " I dont know what to tell you, I cant get the red and black anymore"

And if you want to talk about lies, here are a couple

"I never refused, i told you to get your money back from the dude. so when you broke the scales im supposed to do them over? maybe if it was a job i did for you yes i would"

Bullshit you told me to get my money back. You didnt say a fucking word about dealing with the person who sold them to me. And so what If I didnt originally buy them from you? I made it clear that I wanted to PURCHASE a scale from you. I didnt ask for you to do it for free. I didnt ask you to do the whole set over. I asked if I could get you to make one scale and I would pay to have it replaced.

Bottom line is I dont want a fucking thing from you. I stopped emailing you on this due to it taking 2-3 days for 1 sentence responses of which you were absolutely no help. You made no offers to make another at any price and this is the first im hearing of your issues with the job you did on those scales. And if you did such a shitty job on them why the fuck sell them in the first place. IDK and IDC. You say you would go above and beyond to make people happy. Well you sure didnt fucking secure a new customer. And this was your exact quote.

"hmm dont know what to tell ya,,i cant get that red and black anymore"

    What the fuck ever.

Yes I did offer to pay for the scale in my first email to him. And in my last email. . I never asked for him to do it for free. here is the complete emails that we exchanged. The last one I sent him was on the 29th of may. Mind you during our whole exchange he doesnt make one attempt to even offer his services at a price. And I honestly only think he is offering any help NOW is because of this very thread. He replied to this thread four days after it was posted. I would think he posted here at the moment he found out about it. Which means he didnt reply to my last email to him for 4 days where I again stated that I would pay for the work. Never did I ever elude to asking for anything for free. And never once did he make any offer his services at a price.

Well dont get me wrong man, Im not asking you to do it for free. I had every intention of paying you for it. And I know of a couple different places that sell the red and black g10 to have one of them made. I would just really hate to scrap this entire set because of this. I may end up just getting some really thin black G10 and using that as a base and just glue the old broken one to that. You know this material better than I do you think that would be ok expecially if its only going to be used as an overlay? -Tim

Ps. sorry for the attitude but I kinda took your last email as a "you deal with it" type response.

Now maybe I jumped the gun with putting this thread on here but I simply cant stand it when you go to someone with an issue and it takes 2 days for them to respond and they simply give you a one sentence answer that simply states "dont know what to tell you" there was no, "well I could if i had the material for this price" And that last email to him he never even responded to. Then on the fourth of this month when he figures out that I had made a thread about this he responds in this thread. I had totally even forgot about this figuring it was a wash. Can anyone read those emails and honestly say that he was in any way trying to help? Did he ever in his emails state that he wasnt happy with the way those handles came out and to get my money back? I may not have handled myself well in this situation. But at least I can admit my faults.

  15. #15

    yeah

i wish i could stoop low enough to post your insane ranting and name calling you emailed me. simple phone call would have solved all of this in seconds.
thanks so much to the rest of you sticking up for me, its hard to run a business all on your own and please everyone. Posts like this can ruin a person in my position and im glad most of you understand that, that goes for all pimpers and makers, we make scales and knives no one is claiming to be a perfect business man, that just happens.

Sorry for all this drama bro but im an easy going guy and i would still help you out.
