From start to finish. This is bigbob's knife. Gonna be a framelock folder with a blade of CPM 3V. Gotta start somewhere right? Here are the basic materials:
Oh hey look, there's some extra 3V there.![]()

Love them WIP thread!
Why thank you sir!!! What a nice suprise to see this WIP. HORAY FOR ME!!!
BTW, it is my anniversary today. The Wife and I are renewing our vows this afternoon. I guess I had better get back to writing my "new" vows and throw something in about my addiction to steel. Ok, probably a sex addict too.
Back on topic Chris, THANK YOU!!!
Well it wouldn't be one of my WIPs without a setback, right?Whoever coined the phrase "measure twice, cut once" was a wise man. The results in said fuck up?
I guess the bright side is that there will be a slightly smaller version of Bob's knife. His is the 3.5" blade.
So, everything is profiled, drilled, reamed, countersunk. All that jazz.
And the spine has been rounded with thumb SERRATIONS added.
And it's off to be heat treated today.
I better have you make me another outta that other blade. Maybe a hollow grind with serrations on the spine, lol. Can you make the folder to have interchangeable blades?
And it shall be left handed and have a modified blade profile!
