Thread: Wield your axes!

    Wield your axes!

Not that kind of axe, I'm talking about guitars!
    (Gear is a plus)

I've been playing on and off, repeatedly, for 5 years now.
Seems like everytime I come back I have something more to offer so I cant complain that much.

I picked this piece up at a local music shop called Express Music.
This place had something I've never seen or knew about which had me like "WHOA!" because I didn't know any better and you probably did.
Every single guitar for sale brand new had these installed:
A push/pull potentiometer "Coil Tap or Split"
(If you'd like more info on this, just ask!)

I bought this thing last year and I'm still loving it.
I can't wait until I get an amplifier, some better pickups, and an overdrive pedal. Don't get all confused now, I use a Behringer V-AMP2 with mathcing headphones. This setup is alot of fun for the time being.

    Anyway, on to the pictures!
This is a Schecter Diamond Series Omen Extreme.
Picked it up for $400 and I take very good care of it.
One day I think I'm going to trade it in with cash for an ESP.

OMG I think amp porn is my new thing!
Most impressive Malt. I am eager to have a tube amp hence its wide versatility.
I'd be even more stoked if I built one! Now would be a good time since I'm learning about all these electronic parts and circuits. Do you have any documentation I can follow in order to make these kinds of products?

    Nice Gibsons bud.

Warning!!!! Amp building is wherry addictive a god place to start is whit a smaller amp around 5w you can get amp kits whit instructions all over. If you check out trinity amps they have nice amp called "tramp". 5 watt may seem to little , but whit the right speaker i can be very loud.
her i a link to the trinity forum http://www.trinityamps.com login have a look around. If you have any questions just send me a pm, cheers

A couple of crappy pics from my shop.

A Fender standard strat with Seymour Duncan antiquity pickups,a Fender set neck strat don't remember the model,a Fender jazz neck on a p-bass body with a Dimarzio Gibson humbucker and Leo Quann Badass bridge ala Billy Sheehan, a Samick PJ bass with 2 P-bass pickups ala John Entwhistle, a cheap mandolin I picked up in Juarez, and a old round back mandolin.

A Manuel Rodriguez model b classical, a Ibanez Artwood,a Fender Resonator, the 1st 2 on the bottom are pieces parts put together,a Danelectro reissue longhorn 4 string bass modded into a 6 string, and a cheap gibson bass copy.

Had a guitar as a kid, a Fender Strat, but never really did anything with it. Figured I sit around alot watching movies and wasting time now so it would be more productive to do something so I went and picked up a Jackson JS22R and a Peavy Vypyr amp a couple of weeks ago and then a Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul NightFall on a recommendation from my brother who is in the music biz. (Designing equipment for Alesis and now Line 6) Someone at the store asked me if I had learned to play the Jackson already because I was back so soon for the second one and I was like, "you'd never make it in the custom knives world."

Any tips for a re-beginner? I picked up an ACDC tab book because I figured that'd be some of the easier stuff to play and downloaded some free lessons off of the net but I think I'm still in the finger stretching phase. It's funny how much my left arm muscles hurt after an hour of some really basic fretting.

The sg is around 10 years old, would love to have a sg from the 60 70 era.

Gtrtech thats a sweet collection you got there.
I also have an Ibanez acoustic, love the sound I get from that.
Do you ever pick any instruments up at pawn shops?
And I need advice on purchasing my first set of pickups..

Thank You, just my little pile of junk.
In 25 years of messing with guitars, I've only bought one guitar from a pawn shop and it turned out to be stolen.
That and most of the pawn shops around here want premium prices for their stuff.
I'll offer what advice I can, it's been a few years since I've worked for , or have been in a music store.
