    ESEE HEST folder

Hey Devils, I don't think anyone put anything like this up so I wanted to share. Check out what ESEE is working on. I think its cool for what it is and I wouldn't mind having one, but I am curious about what ever happened to their Izula prototype. The site doesn't say much on it so I wonder if they are going to scrap it for this. I noticed they are working on D2 for this and the Izula prototype. Any ideas to why instead of 1095? Also, I know this HEST folder is a proto but the blade is Italian made so would that mean they are going to outsource once the design is final? I'm curious since they pride themselves on being American made.

    HEST? yeah no shit...

I thought the 1095 was plenty good enough, kept the price south of ridiculous. I really hope they ground it thinner than their fixed blades.

Hostile Environment Survival Tool is right, I'd like to have something like that with me when I'm in the city at night. deadly

I'm signed up for one of these.

I do have a Marmite relationship with it though. I keep looking at it and liking then disliking it.

    It'd be very useful.

    -bottle opener
    While your driving
    -seat belt cutter
    -glass breaker
-tool for killing hitchhikers who get to rowdy

Not to amazed with the looks though. I suppose a custom g-10 scale and an Up Armored paint job would fix that, but it would double the cost of the knife.

ESEE is American made. This knife is a DPX knife. Its sold by ESEE but isnt an ESEE if that makes sense. It still comes with the same warranty as all their other knives though.

The blade is only 3 inches, that's about 1/2 inch too short for me. I wish they would lose all the gimmicky shit and just stick to producing a good folder. I mean it already comes with a little multi-tool widget thingie. I really like the blade shape though.

Could the switch to D2 be for increased corrosion resistance ? As this is a folder it will be carried on body and be subject to body moisture , salts, etc. Just my swag.

I am looking forward to handling one of these, I do like the product line!

Robert Pelton who used to work for Blackwater now known as XE as a "security contractor" had something to do with the design. He had written a few books such as Licensed to Kill etc. His website is comebackalive.com He is the dude in the middle with the mustache.

Pelton also had a great tv show and is definitely a larger than life type of guy.

The whole concept is pretty much okay. But there are several things I don't like about it.

-The stupid laughing skull on the scale,
-I never understood the bottle opener,
-The hudge H•E•S•T print on the clip is an overkill,
    -This 3" way too small.

    just my 2 cents
