    Buck autos.

I have a random question for the automatic knife junkies out there.

I know Paragon made quite a few Buck 110, & 112 conversions. But did Buck ever back in the day make an auto version of their classic lock backs?

Curiosity sake. I know even they did, I would never find one. And would have to settle for a conversion obviously.

As far as I know, Buck Knives as a company, has never made any Buck 110 or 112 autos. They have been made by several craftsmen and it is pretty hard to find out who the craftsman are that do the work. Buck Knives will not honor their guarantee on any auto converted Buck knife.

Buck did make a liner lock 110 rather than a lock back but not an auto that I know of.

I'm betting if Buck made one, Gary would have it. Maybe he would show a pic of a few of his Bucks here.

I wonder if they did make any autos in the more "classic" era. I know they got in on the spring assist market recently. Something about the old school autos (the old schrades, classic Italian picklocks, stilettos, lever locks etc.) I find myself really fond of. They seem to have so much more heart then new age autos.

Buck made a 110 liner lock? Weird. Did they call it the Buck 227? I was curious & looked a buck 110 liner lock & got that. It's a spring assist thumb stud contraption.

Nope... pretty sure it was called a 110. Don't find any reference to a Buck 227? I found a few pics of the linerlock 110 in my photo file but I don't own one. They 'pop up' on e-bay once in awhile... this one never sold...

This one has a date stamp of 1997... maybe that's the year Buck tried it or else it's a fabrication of someone else's imagination???

If there was only one, I doubt I'd be the owner... my pockets have never been that deep! Here's just some of the Buck 110 auto conversions I have...

I need to get a 4-bedroom house so I can have an office AND a den. (Or man-cave as the kids call it now)

I have a 112 (Ranger) auto conversion, don`t know who did it, but the workmanship is top notch. It`s got stainless (or nickel) bolsters, with the (round) button set into a perfectly chamfered hole in the bolster, which is milled-out on the inside to contain the coil spring. It fires with authority, and locks up nice and tight.

I have to organize my picture files one of these days... I have a zillion photos in an old file that I managed to save from extinction when my Dell computer went 'belly up' back in 2007 and then there must be another zillion photos in a newer file on this Gateway computer. I was just checking and found this old photo of pretty much my Buck autos (the little guy is a William Henry Spryte)...

Then right next to it was a photo of most of my 'other' autos...

Really cool stuff. are those "yellowhorse" buck conversions? I have an old one that i'd always fantasized about having converted. - of course, i have no idea who'd perform such an op, or if even possible...

Not Yellowhorse... Ghostown performed the scale work on the 3 auto conversions. He doesn't do
the actual auto conversions. He does some fantastic work with turquoise & silver though...
