I think the reason your getting few responses is because your question is too broad. To write everything I know on pivots, bushings, washers, etc, would take so long and be many pages long.
What is it you wish to do? If you want to mod a knife, tell us what you want to accomplish and I'll try and help.If you just want to understand how these things work, then buy a few knives with the features you like and disassemble them and study how their made, function, etc.

P.S. there is a modding forum here on JD

I haven't found anything related to modding Balis yet ... Well to Narrow it down a bit ,I wanted my Balis main Pivots tight as possible in the handle play ,but still very smooth for flipping .. So I wanted to learn more about the main Pivots in BALISONGS in general .. I am trying to mod my BM41ss & my BM51's main Pivots ... Does that help?

But Like I was saying just links to any modding for balis would be good ,I was trying to start a reference thread for people to learn from ... So that maybe it helps more then just my needs.

The 41 being a channel bali will be very difficult to tighten up much. You could add thicker washers buts its not going to be as tight as a sandwich construction. For the 51 you can remove the pivots and replace them with bushings and a barrel pivot. You would need 3 3/16th silicon bronze bushing, new .015 bronze washers, over sized screw heads and a 1/8th barrel pivot available at most knife supply businesses. Then lap the bushing down to .002 longer then the thickness of the blade, plus washers, and liners. Then Normally the bushing are lapped to .002 thicker than the blade only with the washers between the bushing and handle but because there are 3/16th holes through the liners of the 51 you need to do it differently or fill the 3/16th holes. You'll also need to adust the length of the other two bushings to fill the 3/16th hole in the g-10 handle scales.Once the bushings are done you'll need to fit the barrel pivot, adjust screw length, and do a final assembly using blue loc-tite.
