I attended the show yesterday. Picked up a nice custom EDC from Jim English. It's my first tanto. (I'm not a huge fan of tantos, but I figured I needed to have at least one in my collection. And Jim's knife feels perfect in the hand.) Here's a pic:

    Specs:

    Steel: 440C
    Overall Length: 8-3/4"
Blade Length (Tip to Scale): 4-1/4"
    Blade Thickness: .190"
    Handle Material: Micarta
    Sheath: Black Leather, Ambidextrous

Spent some time talking to D'Holder, Dennis Cook and Pat McNinch. All in all, a very nice show.

PM me next time & you will get a response from me when I get the email notice of the PM.....

I went to a Marble show in Fullerton first so I wasn't sure when I would get to the Blade Expo.....

I wrote down the URL at every maker's table after I took pictures, so most of them will get a reminder to visit JD after you hit them also.....

Ron, next year, could you send me some Business Cards?

That way I won't have to write down the website URL, so fucking many times.....

The Members in Southern CA, should make a point of joining SC Blades. The membership is cheap & you will be able to attend the Expo for free.....

You will be supporting a great club, that way, also.....

As Promised, some pictures of the show.....

I would first like to apologize to the makers, & to the members of JD, I went to a marble show, before the knife show, and I had my camera set to take macro shots, to better focus close-up on the art glass. I forgot to set the camera back to normal focus, so most of these pictures are fuzzy.....

I hope other members got better results, & post them here, also.....

Here are a couple pictures from Marcus Clinco, President of SC Blades. The first picture is a knife that was featured in Tactical knives, the second is a picture of the trophy he won for the ladder damascus patterned micarta scales.....
    www.clincoknives.com .....

Next is a Devin Thomas Sharktooth Damascus Folder, made by Bill Coffey.....

The 2010 Best Damascus Knife made by Robert F. Dodd.....
I wish the picture had turned out better as it is striking.....
    http://www.rfdoddknives.com .....

An eagle scrimshaw by Mike Tamboli.....

A couple of nice damascus hatchets by Jim Ferguson.....
    He has a couple of websites; www.twistednickel.com & www.howtomakeaknife.net .....

Another fine damascus hatchet made by Brian Forrest @ www.tomahawkshop-forrestforge.com .....

    A cowgirl scrimshaw by Hans Weinmueller @ www.hwknivesandmore.com .....

2 pictures of a Damascus dagger with a synthetic opal handle, by Todd M Kopp, @ www.koppknives.com .....

The 2010 Best Art Knife from Hermann Masshammer, from Germany, @ http://www.masshammer.de/Home.html .....

A unique, all wood, fixed blade from Daniel F. Zvonek.....

The 2010 Best Fighter, made by Henry Torres, Master Bladesmith, @ www.htknives.com .....
The handle was incredible, I wish the picture would have turned out clearer.....

The next two pictures are of a knife made by Craig Garrison, "The Garrison Fighting Knife". This knife comes with a forward break sheath, that puts the knife in use, almost instantly.....
    Website www.garrisonfightingknives.com .....

Joe Girtner made the carvings displayed in the next two images.....

The next knife is a work of art, made by Claes, & Thomas, Lofgren, of Lofgren Knives, @ www.lofgrenknives.com .....

This is The Summiter III, by Chris Stanko, @ www.westcoastbladecraft.com .....
It has a nice mustard etched finish on the high carbon steel blade & tang, with carbon fiber scales.....

Knife & Sheath maker, Val Rosas Jr., made the next two knives, an Owl scrimshaw handled blade, & a Competition knife that is a work in progress.....

Paul Kelso made this set of knives, Bird & Trouts, & Neckers.....

These stone knives were made by Paul E. Smith, flintknapper, & artist.....
    Incredibly sharp & beautiful.....

Jay Harris made these titanium chopsticks, elegant, useful, & durable, art.....

A nice Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory handled blade made by J. Mutz, with work by Scrimshander Howard Thomas.....

Knives by Jim English, I had another picture but it got corrupted on the memory stick....
I'm glad bld522, bought, & posted a picture of his.....

Joe Ball Jr., & Joe Ball III, of Schouweiler - Ball American Knives, Limited., had a very nice display of Great Eastern Cutlery folders, these are very well made & affordable.....

I didn't get to see Bob Karp's knife throwing demonstration, this time, but I had a nice conversation with him, he is a legend in the throwing disciplines, and was given the honor of having a Life Time Achievement Hall of Fame trophy awarded to him by the International Knife Throwers Organization.....

Last, but not least, is a metal sculpture, created by Max Berger, this was created by removing massive amounts of metal from a huge piece of stock, approx 12" x 12" x 12".....
    It is called "The Chalice".
The picture after it is another sculpture called "The Raven".....

He is currently working on another piece that will be created from an even bigger piece of metal, I am looking forward to seeing it in its final form, a woman with blade fingers.....
