    trading guns is fun...

I let go today of my Olympic Arms OA93 5.56 Pistol a novelty gun but something I couldn't see keeping for the rest of my days. Not an heirloom gun so to speak. I bought the OA93 2-3 years ago for $1,099.

Instead Mr. Bill Ruger's company sent me home with a Ruger 10/22 Race Gun and the Romanians sent me home with a 7.62x54R PSL...

The scope is a Mueller 4-16x50AO with lighted reticle with the weather we're supposed to have this week - a trip to the range may be in order.

The Oly 5.56 pistol is nice -- BUT -- if you got both the other rifles posted for the Oly -- you did VERY WELL IMHO.

    Now those are heirloom guns.

10/22's are among my all time favorites!

PSL's are really cool...let me know how your feed is. I've heard some of them tend to have feed issues, I'd like to get one (quite a bit more affordable than an SVD and darn near the same thing, mostly) but the feed issue bothers me some.

Very nice on both scores. The 10/22 is one of those guns that has been on my "list" for a long time but I just never get around to buying one. You can turn that thing into just about anything you want. I read somewhere it was the most commercially successful rifle ever. I'd love to slap a Gemtech on one and take care of my rabbit problem!

I've got an honest 50k+ rnds through my standard 10/22, have owned it for ~25 years, only recently put a Houge rubberized stock on it, and have made some insane shots with it over the years...I aimed, hit, and smiled.

IMO, they just can't be beat with fast heavy HP's...love it, my fave gun. Good stuff, Tim's is just that much better...I know what box stock 10/22's can do, and am truly impressed with the race gun concept...

The sniper rifle is no slouch either...used to shoot a friend's SVD in the SoCal desert and 1/4 mile shots on bowling pins were easy as the day is long. Nicely done, very nicely done!

Shel, you like that Hogue stock on yours? I've got an older one somewhere, was thinking about doing the same thing to it.

Good score Tim. Nice looking rifles.

Heard nothing but good things about the Mueller scopes on 10/22's. Let us know what you think about yours.

Tim, sorry 'bout the following derailment...

Parker, yes and no. I like the longer stock length for aimed shooting, and I like the Hogue product quality - but, after so many years of never ending consistancy, I'm finding the longer (and much stickier) stock gets hung up on my shirt almost every time when rapidly shouldering - which is really freaking annoying...

No need to apologize Sheldon - its not like I've never done it before...
