Here I've got the blade ground down to it's final shape with a temp hickory handle
I go through a bunch of edge testing
Manila Rope
2x4
Dried Bamboo
Leather
Cardboard
MDF
and a bunch of paper to show that it's still sharp
also you get a nifty peek at the Hamon which I am particularly impressed with so far.

Impressive stuff!
This is a really good thread Stephan. I've been having trouble knowing if my knives are heat treated properly and if the edge will hold up. I've never used a really good knife so i have nothing to compare to. That last video of you testing is perfect though, you cut paper after every test and that is something i can do and compare my results with yours. Thank you very much!
