    Special Hunting Knife

Just recently recieved my Special Hunting Knife. It has my favorite desert ironwood burl slabs on it. Mike kept the SHK historically correct by using brass pins vs he corby bolts that are used on recent Barkies.

The Bark River Special Hunting Knife is a Re-Creation of one of the Earliest and most Famous Patterns of the Grand San Francisco Knifemaking Renaissance. This Pattern was made by the - then World Famous Firm - Will & Finck.

The knife is a beautiful tank....My thanks to Jason at DLT TRading Co. for selecting this desert ironwood burl handle for me.

    Specs

    Overall Length: 10.6 inches
    Blade Length: 5.875 inches
    Blade Steel: A2
    Blade Hardness: 58 RC
    Blade Thickness: .200 inch
    Weight: 10.5 ounces

    My regards, Double Ott

Now, though I know it would keep it from being as original, if that had the handle shaped like the Bravo-1, it would be my new favoritest knife ever.

Mike, do you have a leather sheath to fit the EPK, preferably a pocket sheath, or will i have to get one made?

    Mmm.

In my mind Mike Stewart has a deeper baritone voice.

Hey, that's a great knife design.

Bark River 3V Fox River & Tusk

Mike Stewart and his crew of Craftsmen at Bark River recently did a run of Fox Rivers & Tusks in CPM 3V.
    3V Fox Rivers & Tusk 043 (640x425).jpg

The traditional Fox River, with SS bolsters and a Tusk (sheepsfoot from the FR blade) were made.
    3V Fox Rivers & Tusk 022 (640x425).jpg

The handles are desert ironwood burl, a great weakness of mine. Workmanship on these is suburb.
    3V Fox Rivers & Tusk 005 (640x425).jpg

These are all from Jason at DLT Trading Co.

My sincere thanks to Mike, his Craftsmen and Jason.

    Thanks for looking, Tom
