Today I turned 30.
I wasn't sure what to do to celebrate. I don't party, no big bashes planned.
I took the last of my vacation days and spent time with family.
This morning I got up at 3am and started packing my bike stuff.
Two cups of coffee and 1/2 hour on the internet later, I threw the bike on the back of the car and left.
I got to the park just before 5am. I could finally put my new light to the test.
I decided to pull out the cell phone and snap some pics.
I usually ride 20 or so miles on the Trinity Trails, but today I wanted to go all the way to one of the ends.
The first 20 miles was uneventful. The light performed well and I had no problems.
At one point, I found myself at the entrance to Carswell Air Force Base. I turned around and went a while farther, when I found a Federal Prison.
After somebody in a prison SUV started taking notice of me, I decided to head back home.
The sky was beginning to lighten up a bit.
A few miles later, the sun was really putting on a morning show.
Of course, what would a FIN trip be without getting lost. I was on the wrong side of the river when it veered off to the right. My trail took me left. I had to get on the roads to find my way back.
The traffic dodging took a lot out of me, so I decided to rest.
Obligatory knife shot. KABAR Becker Necker with belt clip. Exposed for easy reach.
When I got back to the car, the ODO read 38.76 miles. That's too close to 40 not to round it off, right? So I made a lap on the park's walking path to satisfy my OCD.
Thanks for looking.
