When someone comes after you with the intent to do bodily harm , you have a lot of latitude as far as what you can do in self defense............up to and including breaking someone's arm with a tire iron.
Maybe even farther.
But that's all the farther I had to go.
Cutting them would have been an attractive option , but would have cost you a lot of time trying to get out from under the inevitable charges.
Blunt force trauma ?
No brainer.
If you have to use anything that you brought to the ball , lose it before the cops get there.
Anything you find on the ground or remove from your intended victim is perfectly acceptable though.
It is funny , but every time I hear about a situation like this ( and including the one time it happened to us ) , it seems to end up worse for the aggressors.
But they never seem to learn , do they ?

Absolutely not.

Funny how the Cop happened by just after it happened.
Coulda been funnier, they coulda drove right by while it was happening, and kept goin'.
