    Dali ing in Figueres

I promised LaBella that I would take some pics on my next drive down to Spain. Disclaimer!!! Sorry for the quality of the shots as low light and my little snapshot camera coupled with my ability are real limitations.

So, I am walking down the street in Figueres, on my way to the Dali Museum.

and I look over a fence at a construction site and see a Roman ruin!

Then on to the Dali Museum. He was the "Eggman"!

    Take one nose.

    One pair of lips.

    A pair of eyes.

And climb up a staircase to look at the scene through a lens and you get a portrait!

    Night light?

Dali is one of my favorites. Thanks for the pictures.
I'm going to guess that all of your failures prior to the "revolution" will pale in comparison to how hard your life will be afterward. You will not rise to the occasion. If you can't succeed in a structured, ordered society, you will continue to fail miserably when winning friends and influencing people becomes vitally important.

Another thank you. Glad you had a good time RF.

I have been to the Dali Museum in florida, that one looks more impressive. (although the Florida one has some of his most famous works)
I have no idea what hammer time is. . . or how it differs from regular time.

Been there lots of times. This museum is in fact much more than impressive ... it IS simply Dali.

BTW: Did you know that Dali is buried in this museum, directly under the glass dome?

Yes, I did. Dali was also born in Figueres. And, what is so neat about the Museum is that it in itself was created by Dali. Here is a quote from the Museum guide, "The Dalí Theatre-Museum, the largest surrealistic object in the world, occupies the building of the former Municipal Theatre, a 19th century construction which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. On its ruins, Dalí decided to create his museum."

The pictures cannot capture the feeling of the museum as it truly is a work of art that contains his works. Many works were made in place as part of the decor. There is also an adjacent museum that holds many of his jewelry works. It is also a marvel, but my camera didn't work to well for me in the stark contrasts between the dark environment and the brilliantly lit objects! Examples:

Funny you should mention that! Alice is in the Museum! Here is a pic of Dali's Alice Cooper hologram!
