    Germany to Ban Paintball

Kind of funny actually. Germans want to ban paintball because it teaches shooting and killing skills. I like it, as an American, because it teaches shooting and killing skills. Different mindset.

The German government says it plans to ban combat games such as paintball, in response to a recent school shooting.

The new measures being proposed to parliament also include tighter gun control rules and give officials the right to conduct checks on gun owners.

Sixteen people, including the gunman, were killed in the shooting at a school in southern Germany in March.

Relatives of the victims say the new measures do not go far enough.

    'Biometric controls'

Under the proposed rules, the authorities would be given more right to ensure weapons are safely locked up.

It is also thought that "biometric controls" for gun storage might be introduced, the BBC's Steve Rosenberg in Berlin reports.

That would mean that anyone owning and storing guns at home would need to use their own fingerprint to open the safe or cupboard, our correspondent says.

Berlin also plans to ban games like paintball and laser-tag that simulate killing on the grounds that they trivialise and encourage violence.

Anyone defying the proposed new rule could face a 5,000-euro (£4,474) fine.

But relatives of those killed in the March attack in the town of Winnenden, near Stuttgart, are calling for an outright ban on pistols and high-calibre weapons.

"There cannot be a second Winnenden," Hardy Schober, whose daughter was killed in the attack, told a news conference in Berlin.

So what happens when a bunch of kids get together and play war, army or cops and robbers? is the german SWAT team going to pounce and arrest them and then fine all of the parents?

This stuff makes Europeans look like they are a bunch of reactionary dolts. What are they going to do once everything is banned and crazy assholes are still killing people?

    Well...

I've been talking gun control issues ever since you know who was a carpenter.

When I started shooting you could grab your pistol, shotgun, rifle and head on out to the dump, woods, range... wherever.

Then we lost the ability to purchase/own/collect full auto stuff, then the Minis became an issue, barrels under 4 inches and blah blah blah... now it's the number of rounds in a mag.

To be honest, not too many people end up being killed by hunters or sport shooters or even guys who do what we used to call "combat shooting".

So in my humble opinion, while these mass murders deserve to be shot with a ball of their own shit, it's really not the fact that they owned guns that turned them into killers. They were already nuts, and as we've seen, the nuts will use whatever method they can to kill people. Look at that whack job who drove his car into the Royal Parade in Europe, killing four or five people. Look at the reeeally stupid suicide bombers. Gun owners are an easy target because they actually live in fear of being stripped of their possessions, and won't make too much noise, because it will draw attention to themselves. And who, in North America (that's both the USA and Canada) wants more government involvment in their lives? Not I, that's for sure.

We will never get rid of the few whackos who go out and kill people so why do we punish law-abiding citizens for doing something they enjoy? Shooting a gun well, is a skill, much like driving a car.

And to all those people who say guns are just for killing things, I say: Take a look at your automobile... cars are cleverly disguised and very efficient killing machines. They kill and maim hundreds of people daily, in North America alone.

Anyhow, in the old day gun control was being able to hit your target.

    Have a good one.

Latest news is that the ban has been put off.
A commission will first investigate about the possible effects.

Exactly what they did the last time it happened: line up for the trains to the death camps. Same mentality.

Hey, this is actually a good idea. This time, they are banning paintball guns, not powder driven firearms.

When they try to invade Poland, Russia and France with paintball guns, the Russians will eat them for a mid-morning snack instead of lunch, the Polish will put up a fight this time and the French will still be serving them lunch in the shade

They banned climbing trees some years ago I think. All tree surgery has to be done from platforms.

Hey Germans!...... WAKE UP! This an issue for RETARDS not for sane, reasonable, responsible citizens!!!

Surrender your freedom to choose and you choose to be slaves.... oh it won't feel like slavery at first, but then theyll ban someting else and something else and on and on til you can't enjoy a thing you use to without the fear of jail time or fines and you rely solely on your Gov for so called security.
