The other night I came home to find two squad cars parked in front of my neighbor's house. I stream a police scanner feed that archives all traffic, so I hit the archive and discovered that one of my neighbors mongrel children (the 3 year old) had been found unattended in a park by a body of water near our houses. The good Samaritan knocked on the neighbors door, there was no answer so the police and subsequently CPS were called. Later that night I saw the child being loaded into what appeared to be their grandparent's vehicle as I drove by.
As I'm sure you all have gleaned I'm not very fond of these neighbors and their lackadaisical parenting which results in children running loose and making general pests of themselves. I have been enjoying the peace and quiet all week but something is bothering me. There is a sticker with a business name and phone number on one of their vehicles, the name led me to assume it was a child care facility and a reverse look up of the number confirms my suspicion. This is where my battle of conscious begins. Would it be vindictive and petty of me to call and inform this business that one of their employees had a visit from CPS, or would it be the responsible thing to do? I keep thinking that if I had a kid there I would want someone to inform the business, but then I stop and wonder if I'm just being a jerk off trying to rub salt into my neighbors wounds.
Figured this was the place to ask, y'all seem to have level heads and good opinions. Please advise me as what to do, call the company and allude to there being an issue and leave it to them to investigate, or do nothing.
Thanks in advance for the help,
Neb
