I bought Gran Torino and watched it last night, I've seen it a few times now and still think it's one of the best movies Clint has done.

Definitely different. I'm pretty easy to impress if they just throw in some gratuitous knife combat that is fairly well choreographed. The SUV's were way cool.

Despicable Me. I still like cartoons. Plus, the Minions were pretty funny.

Saw Ted this past weekend. Lot of Boston in jokes, but I laughed the whole way through the thing. Actually reminded my of a lot of the conversations we have around the lunch table at work.

Ok, my take on "Man on a ledge". Entertaining for the most part, far fetched in a couple places but I enjoyed it right up the point where they dicided that they might be running short on time? The last couple minutes "Street scene" seemed so hurried that it ruined the whole thing. Top that off with the fact that the main character goes from there to walking out of jail in what seems like hours! Keep in mind this has nothing to do with his clothes since he would be wearing the same thing he was arrested in when his property was returned upon release. It just seemed like the narrative thread got clipped at the knees.

    It was surprisingly good.

    Hidalgo is awesome.

I watched Blood Diamond for the first time recently. I thought it was damn good. Never bothered watching it when it came out as I am not a big DiCaprio fan but I think he did a great job with this role.

    Thumbs up Star Trek

Watching the "new" one on DVD again. Refreshing reboot of a classic series. Can't wait for the next one!

Watched 'Anonymous' with a friend who is a Shakespeare freak. It was pretty good, actually, and do not neglect the special featurette 'Who was the real Shakespeare?' Some very interesting information there.

I caught the Norwegian flick Headhunters recently. Not bad. Was surprised to see Jamie Lannister in it.

Expendables 2 was not nearly as good as Expendables, started out strong but got pretty stupid towards the end.

That and they didn't showcase knives as much as they did in the original
