as soon as i get home, i plan on buying a 1911 style .45. i have narrowed my choices down to these two weapons. does anybody own a kimber or a springfield? which one should i choose?

I have never shot a Kimber, but I know you would not be dissappointed with a TRP.

Here's one at a great price.

Have owned both (Kimber CDP II, and Springfield Loaded....) IF you get a good one! I'd go Kimber...BUT only IF??? Otherwise Springfield, I know not the definitive answer needed, but the truth IMHO

I have a stainless Kimber and love it. Most accurate pistol I've ever shot. Puts my other semi-auto's to shame.

I own a total of 5 Springfields, and they are all excellent shooters. Depending on how much you want to spend, the Pro is a fine weapon, the TRP is great, and don't discount the Mil Spec either. The Mil Spec would make a fine building platform for your custom 1911 whether you have it done or build it yourself. I have two of those and one is bone stock, and the other has been reworked and neither have had one single problem.

my first gun u ask, lallander? how could you forget? my New England Firearms 20 Gauge single shot! and it was stolen by a dirty crackhead!

most of you are probably like "oh, i had one of those when i was 9". well i had bought it last year. and i am 22 now. lol. i was desperate to buy a gun for the first time, and it was all i could afford with the last few dollars of my paycheck. it cost about 90 bucks.

ive decided i think im gonna go with the springfield cause its a little cheaper, and it sounds like they are both great weapons. i also plan on finding a nice short double-barreled side-by-side, and probably some sort of civilian m4. and many many more. goddamn, guns are addicting. one is never enough, even one in each category.
