    slim field knife

I've kind of grown attached to slim smaller bladed knives. This one is about 8.5" OAL, single edged, false upper edge, parkerized with a G10 handle and micarta pins. I really like this size of knife. Big enough to do lots of utility jobs and small enough to carry discretely and comfortably.

I like the G10 color combo with the parkerizing as well. I switched parkerizing brands. This ones much blacker, but a bit touchy in the application and tends to rub off too easily during treatment. I figured they were all the same chemical, just different concentrations. I'll have to play a bit with it to get the optimal solution concentration and coating thickness for the desired look. I had to redo this one a few times to get it even.

I have some rifle projects in works and have been on a parkerizing kick lately. If the cat ever knocks a fucking drink over on me again while I'm sleeping on the couch I just might dunk her ass in the parkerizing tank as well!

Nice knife there, reminds me of a boot dagger but looks a lot more useful. The grinds to make the handle texture are nice and tight to.

    Thanks for the comments!

I kept looking at it and it needed something. The plain smooth G10 was a bit slick for something with essentially no guard/choil/hand-stopping doohicky, so I figured I'd file it up a bit. the zig-zag just seemed to fit the blade well.

I have quite a few similar ones in works. I'll have to set one from this upcoming group aside for a pass around to get some feedback.
