An issue I would like to discuss

I got a couple pm's recently about something that I wanted to address with you all,
just to clear up any questions or concerns.

It seems that there may be some of you wondering why I am still buying
knives when you are planning to have a fundraiser for my daughter. As some of you
know, I have been buying and selling knives for well over a year or so now, so it's
not like I just started buying knives.

I'm in no way writing this message to piss anyone off, but I truly am
worried that there may be some people on here that feel that the money that you
all so generously donated for my little girl is being misused. If ANYONE
would like to see where the money has gone, I really have no problem letting
you see her bank statement. We decided to put it into her saving account
until it is needed for her medical expenses, if it is not needed for medical
bills, then when all of this is over, she will get what ever she wants with
the money. If she doesn't want anything, then the money will be there, in
    her acct for her.

I know that in the past when I have donated to help someone out, it made me
feel good to be able to help, even if it was just in a small way, I hope
that you all know how much your support means to my family.

You have nothing to worry about, I do not recall YOU asking anyone for anything. People want to feel good about themselves by offering up goods/items for a good cause and now want to make themselves feel better by taking you down? Not on my watch. Rest easy friend. This issue is moot.

I have also heard rumblings and posed questions in my own mind.
And I have donated and will continue to do so as my fortunes allow to any cause I feel I can help.............Mia included.
The generosity of the members here is amazing and not something I take for granted.
The wrath of the mob is also amazing.........not pitchfork and torch , but wraith like , and not something I would wish to incur.
The money...........the prizes from raffles ...........none of that means shit compared to putting a smile on a child's face , or the feeling of being right for trying to help.
At the end of the day , the Mia 's and Lily 's of the world are far more important than anything on my table currently.
If you were running a game , ..................no. I just don't see that as possible.
There is a judgment and timing issue that falls below the significance of what is really important here.
But it will be an issue for many.
We are living in the proverbial glass houses on the net because we are everywhere.
With absolutely no effort , I know more about people I don't know than I really want or need to.
    But we're good.
Take care of that baby man..........that's all you gotta do.

Buying and selling knives is almost a job in my mind... Just like a lot of other things, you have to keep working, and if you're making money at it, than I don't see the problem...

You have to do what you have to do to support your family first. Not my business or anyone else's to tell you how to run your life. Hey we are all struggling here with these latest financial crunches and even still you will see JD members step up to assist others. Knife selling, trading etc can be addictive and as long as its kept real its ok in my book. I also have to step back and do a reality check on myself these days.

I think you did the right thing by starting this post. Clearing the air can be refreshing don't you think?

You reminded me of Jimmy Mac with that sentence.

zappadragon, keep doing what's best for your little girl. I hope to have something to add to the raffle on of these days.

    Damn man.
    Thanks Joe.
If I could be half a Jimmy Mac , I'd be proud to know myself.
He is pretty close to the bar we all try to attain I think............as long as he doesn't raise it , I might have a shot.
But there is right and there is right.
    He is often right.
    I am sometimes right.

I appreciate the kudos boys, but the real issue here is what our man Zappadragon is going through.

There's an old Indian proverb that goes something like this:

'' Never judge a man till you've walked a mile in his moccasins''

    Fuck what everyone else thinks....

I know for a fact this man didn't ask for anything, he even went on to state he felt funny accepting anything from the good folks on this forum. We here are a rare breed who tend to take care of our own, even when the recipient of good deeds has neither a need or a want for help. Something that goes beyond the realm of thought for most. Those who can't or refuse to understand what we stand for, well fuck them.

    Zappadragon,

Continue to do what you're doing, fuck what some might think or say. The real issue is what's best for Mia, and judging from the pictures and stories you bestow upon us I can only say you and your's are doing a great job of making a most precious little girl as happy as she can be at a most trying time. I for one am proud to say I will help in any way, shape or form to see her most beautiful little smile anytime you choose post it. And please by all means keep us all updated, I think JD has offically adopted Mia as our new hope... With all the sad shit we share, it's great to see Mia's smiling face....

    All the best,
    Jimbo

Dont worry about it Zappa, its probably someone who lost out on a knife you bought and is being pissey about it now and I cold see someone not liking it if you were spending the money you got for Mia on knives but I dont see that happening.

Hang in there bro and keep that wonderfull little girl you have happy because when it comes down to it thats all that matters.

No problems here. Do your best and live your life well. If some people want to chip in and help your daughter...well good for them. That is their choice and shouldn't include any imposition that you act in some different manner. Gifts should be freely given.
